I'll try and keep this up this season (unlike last where I did the odd month here and there), I like to gauge people's reactions on how the month has gone and I think it gives a good indication of the consistent performers over course of the season. So we have managed a total of 8 points in the league from the month, after a good unbeaten start we failed to continue that against the clear favourites for the division, QPR. Overall though a pretty good month of results given the tough opposition that we faced, although imo. the performances weren't exactly on par with the results. Anyway, the results of August were: Leeds 2 - 1 Brighton Leeds 2 - 1 Chesterfield Leicester 0 - 0 Leeds Leeds 1 - 1 Sheff Wed. Ipswich 1 - 2 Leeds Doncaster 1 - 3 Leeds Leeds 0 - 1 QPR For me, the three main players that stick out are McCormack, Austin and Pearce. McCormack, our top goalscorer on 4 goals and our main attacking outlet, everyone knows what hes about and why he is so important for our team. Austin, 2 man of the match performances against Leicester and then Sheff Wed. having missed Brighton showed how strong he is in that midfield, although since then hasn't shown the same consistency. And Pearce, who I think has surprised everyone with his improved performances from last season, McD had the choice to drop him for Wootton but instead chose to drop lees because of Pearce's form combined with a few costly errors from Lees. I thought particularly against Ipswich and Leicester that Pearce played really well.
