is to call for Sir Alex to be banned for being angry about it. Unbelievable.

Can you imagine the reaction if a Man Utd player had kicked the ball at an opponent? There would be mass uproar!

If SAF knows that players could die from being hit with the ball then he has to withdraw ManU from the league otherwise he is knowingly putting players in danger.Surely that's illegal.

I notice no one is talking about the foul on RVP before the equaliser but they seem to think Swanseas disallowed goal should have stood

Are people still going on about this. How ****ing dull.

Although i did find this part of Roberto Martinez's quote interesting this morning.
Its about where he was hit, (i.e. in a position that is very unlikely to be hit in normal play), but its harder to makes jokes with that.

I think the length and ridiculousness of the aftermath is usually proportionate to the incident itself... So expect this to go on for a few months mate <ok>

Sir Alex over stepped his mark massively, and should be punished in my opinion, as well as being laughed at derided for being a prick with his comments. He's a legendary manager, but he shouldn't be immune from retrospective action regarding defamation, just because the FA et al want interviews and his allegiance! Has Williams meant to do it? Well if he did, he's gone to kick the ball before the whistle was blown, so what, he's deliberately making a **** clearance just for an act of petulance?? Doubtful. Is Van Persie ever going to die from it? Very very doubtful again. Accidents happen in football, and people get kicked/hit all over the place, it's competitive sport.

At least Van Persie didn't do a Rivaldo <laugh>

Yeah i said yesterday it was a stupid thing to say. Touchline ban for a game or two is the standard punishment for a manager being a dick, though to be fair he's probably more likely to be charged for criticising the referee.

Problem is he took something that would certainly be genuinely questionable (if you assume malicious intent, which you probably would with a vested interest in the heat of the moment) and blew it out of proportion. No he wasn't lucky to be alive, but he could easily have been injured.

It was genuinely funny for about an hour two, now its just repetitive.

Fair play Jules, yeah he could have been injured, and neck-strain is a bitch <ok>
A football to the face or balls from close range hurt way more in my experience, yet if it had have been there everyone would be laughing their faces off at it <laugh>

Merry Christmas to you and all those in red, hope you have a lovely day tomorrow........... And a horrible one the next day! :emoticon-0111-blush:emoticon-0116-evilg

Also remember that Hernandez sustained a major concussion after being hit on the head by a ball in pre season last year. As a result he was out for a while, took a long time to get going and generally had a disappointing season, which arguably played a part in us not winning the league given how important he was in 10/11.

It's not impossible that SAF had a flashback to that incident when Williams booted the ball at RVP yesterday and overreacted as a result. After all, if we lose RVP for a month to concussion at this stage of the season that could give the title to City again.

P.S. Love the sig Gandalf <laugh>

Are you crazy? If you kick the footballs out of sport you could cause a massacre. Carefully carry the footballs out of sport is a much safer message...

Even that bastion of integrity Neil Lennon is sticking his oar in now. He must be trying to impress the OT board for the pending MU managerial vacancy.

SAF has been giving tactical advise to Neil Lennon, which has helped Celtic get out of there CL group. So the pair of them are obviously good friends. So no suprises that Lennon came out in defence of SAFs comments

The way I see it, the winners don't have to care how the loser feels. And seeing as we're always the winners, our opinions are all that interests me.
