Jamie Mackie Appearances (all competitions): 34 Goals: 8 Assists: 4 Fans' favourite Jamie Mackie put a nightmare double leg break well and truly behind him with a maiden Premier League season to savour. The 26 year-old made his long awaited return from injury in a 6-0 defeat against West London neighbours Fulham in October - his introduction a silver lining for Rangers on a difficult afternoon at Craven Cottage. And Mackie's positive impact in training was rewarded with a starting place the following game against Blackburn Rovers at Loftus Road. His energetic and fearless performances at Club level ensured that Mackie was soon handed international recognition once again with Scotland. He headed the R's level against Sunderland in December with a first top-flight strike that looked destined to earn his side an unlikely point after coming from two goals down. Wes Brown, however, had other ideas when he nodded home a last-minute winner for the Black Cats. Mackie quickly followed up his first goal with a second at Swansea City just after Christmas, with his second-half strike ensuring Rangers earned a share of the spoils. Despite maintaining a regular place in the starting line-up, it wasn't until he came off the bench at Blackburn Rovers in February that Mackie struck the target again - scoring twice in a 3-2 defeat. His last-gasp winner for Rangers - who came from two behind - against Liverpool in March kick-started a run of five consecutive home wins that ultimately proved crucial in beating the drop. Mackie was again on target during Rangers' convincing 3-0 victory over Swansea City in W12 the following month. He ended the season by scoring an unlikely R's second at Manchester City on a dramatic final day, before signing a contract extension to commit his future to the Club until at least the summer of 2015.

The Goal That Meant Everything and Nothing June 14th, 2012 | Category: Fanzone This post has 8 comments. Last month there was a new addition to my daily routine, my list of basic tasks to complete each day is now; get out of bed, turn my alarm off, shower, brush teeth, go to work, come back from work and watch Jamie Mackie’s goal versus Man City from the last day of the season and, eat three meals. The Jamie Mackie goal is the newest one, if you were wondering – I’ve been brushing my teeth daily for almost three months now. I kid, but the beauty of that Jamie Mackie goal is not just that it was a belting diving header (which you don’t see enough of now-a-days), but because of what it felt like at that moment..............cont http://www.indyrs.co.uk/?p=1396
I actually posted a thread on that goal Northolt... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/150386-What-did-you-do-when-Jamie-scored
