A great away point today, well done to the players it was looking grim before halftime and im glad Rodgers had the balls to change it at the break.
It was one of the worst performances ive seen this season from us, we had nothing in the final 3rd couldnt pass it in the final 3rd and didnt even threaten goal until the 70th minute.
Alot of the players had a mare today and not many performed well.

Taylor- Crap i thought, caught out a few times and somehow refuses to pass the ball square nowadays, nearly every time the ball went forward then back 30m when there was an inside ball available, the one time he did try and pass inside he ****ed it up and passed it to newcastle!!
Caulker- That was the most dissapointing display ive seen from him since he s been here, ball watching a few times and positional play was questionable.
Gower- Rightly subbed, was woefull for 45 mins giving the ball away constantly.
Jazz- Got better second half, best way to describe him is that he lives on the edge!! he is still growing into the position and he is learning.
Sinclair- Mr invisible ! runs with the ball and then just gets pushed off, should have scored IMO,maybe he is trying too hard to break the back of the net and is mis kicking all the time, havent seen him play much worse or look as disintrested as today.

Joe allen got better in the secong half and improved when Kemy came on.Kemy did well i thought and must now start the next game. Ash Williams was immense today,a captains performance, vorm usual self, keeping us in it .

I must mention Dyer, is it me or does he seem to be either sulking or just not focused ?? i was expecting him to terrorise Newcastle when he came on, he did absolutly nothing and seemed to be not into it, i dont get good vibes from him at the moment, ever since the latest Liverpool rumours his game has gone off the boil.

This post might sound harsh but im sure many jacks arre thinking the same about the team today, i must add though that it was an immense effort to get a point away at Newcastle and its more than what i was expecting, i guess i should accept that sometimes its better to play crap and get something than to play well and get nothing!!

    Thoughts on today ??

If all those players were not up to it today then Newcastle must have been bloody dire?

Agree with some parts about the first half mostly, but I thought Caulker and Richards were excellent.

Caulker got better towards the end when Newcastle run out of ideas, if Monk had played we would have lost that game so it shows Caulker is the main man even if not playing amazing.

To me it looked like Brandon set it up for no more than a point away against a very good team and, with some luck, managed to do exactly that. The Magpies played well but got out-manned by Swansea in the box except for a couple of clear chances but even then they were unlucky. I thought we were poor in the first half but with a few changes we were better after half time. Its not often we come away from a game with possession going against us so credit to Newcastle but a good point for us.

Graham worked his balls off and always looked to do something despite the pathetic service he was receiving, felt sorry for him! But yeah, we were terrible.

I thought we did good today, it was one hell of a battle, and we kept it tight when it mattered, yes a few of our players were not up to scratch, but I think that was down to the way that Newcastle out muscled us, in nearly every part of the pitch. It didn't look as if Dyer wanted to get into gear, he can be a tart on times, as for Sinclair he disappeared for much of the game, but at the end of the day, we would all have taken the point before the ball was kicked!......................

I agree about Graham, he worked hard all game and put in a real shift, 100% player and i do feel for him because as was rightly pointed out the guy gets no service:0

Your post sounds harsh because your expectancy levels are far too high. Only a top six team will go to St James Park and expect to put in a dominating performance. Offensively it was poor, defensively it was very impressive. A well-earned point - excellent outcome. Here's hoping for another point at Everton next week. <ok>

Your attack was, well, ****e. Let's be honest. I think we had 17 shots on/off target compared to your 3 shots off target and 0 shots on.

Your defence though was superb. There was a game plan, it was stuck to and it paid off. Our team just got frustrated. Our two big forwards didn't get an inch of the ball, especially in crosses and corners. They just got completely outnumbered.

I think we could have won if we had someone like HBA on, as crosses were clearly not working, so we needed to take a more tricky and creative approach. For some reason though, the sub never happened, and once Ameobi the donkey came on, I knew we wouldn't be able to break through.

Well done though. You kept us out and got a point. Good luck for the season.

Dont think my expectancy levels are high,im not expecting us to survive in the prem leauge! we are doing amazing in every game ,this article is a vehicle to create debate it would be boring if we talked about how the players are doing amazing all the time.

After following the swans since a small boy the one thing you learn is to NOT have high expectancy levels<laugh>

I actually think Newcastle are very average if you take djemba ba out of the team,if they had our run of fixtures at the start of the season then im sure things would be different and confidence not as high, their league position would probably be close to ours :)

Not taking anything away from them, they are a club that really should be top 6 when you look at the fantastic support :)

Criticising Caulker or Jazz isn't fair if you ask me. If they were as crap as you are blatantly saying they were, we wouldn't have come away with a draw.

Agree with Sinclair though, he's starting to get on my wick a little, very, very greedy.

Graham put in another great shift and can he a great striker, IF he get's the service.

I don't think it is unreasonable for Swans fans to expect to survive in the Premier League, TBH.

We've had a lopsided first half of the season having played Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool & Newcastle away and only Man Utd at home out of the top teams. In the New Year I think we can hope to see more points come on the road as we play lower teams and probably 'Fortress Liberty' start to crumble slightly as more of the big boys come to visit. Anyway, it will be fascinating to see it all pan out. <ok>

    Agree completely aswan.

We have had some very hard games alreayd this season, most of them away, so come the 2nd half, and at home at Fortress Liberty, well, we will see.

Jackash-What was my critisism of Jazz then?? Caulker was ball watchimg a few times and failed to keep his shape, i am thrilled we got a point but i also think it was because Newcastle were running out of ideas and just lumped it forward, dont get me wrong the result was great for us but we had alot of poor performances as well, if you dis agree thats fine, im just throwing it out there for debate ,we all see things different dont we <ok>
