This is only a problem for any idiots who expected us to run away with the title. The cup game is largely irrelevant. There is a long way to go with the squad but the game could easily have gone the other way today.
Why I'm even bothering to comment on the impossible to please Spanish's post is beyond me. We have the players to play well away from home, however unsure about at home. We're a few short, especially at CB. Lets see where we are after 10/ 15 games. Ignore the Northampton result
Actually to be fair i am ****ing livid. We sell CW, who would have been an ideal foil for chops and we bring in JET who is a lazy useless twat who will show the odd flash of brilliance but maybe once in every 20 games!! We let our best player Gmac go and also two other CB's for nothing and fail to replace them but hey ho!! This is no knee jerk reaction as i know its early days but we have had all summer to bring in the necessary defenders but have failed to do so, what makes you think that things will change within the next 2 weeks? JET poor signing Ellington poor signing II good signing but sadly injured As for the rest of the new signings, good signings but need more quality around them to make an impact!!
I'd rather PJ take his time and get the players he wants rather than panic and just sign anyone, as for the new signings i think its to early to say if they are good,bad or indifferent. Best player GMac nowhere near, i'm glad he has gone a very weak defender IMHO.

What I don't Understand is the whole mentality within football these days about 'needing' to make so many new signings. I agree we could do with a few but why don't we concentrate on the players we have got and do our best to improve them (as a team). Looking at Blackpool as an example not a team full of worldy's even at this level but as a unit were good enough to see off teams in this league and the Prem.
Yes i am..............T.Smith is young and certainly not the finished article but i think that he could become a very good CentreBack, I never rated Macauly not strong enough, not commited enough.
WCP I would be interested to see how many would rather Smith than GMac but tbh i think i would lose just because people don't like my outspoken views!!
WCP At the end of the day i am sooooo pist off its unbelievable, this is not due to the fact that i'm pist (which i am) but due to the fact that i want to win every gam,e!! I know it aint gonna happen but i fear for us this season, can't see anything but a defeat on Tues which is serious bad news, i'm a great believer in winning becomes a habit and vice/versa!! With so many new players of course it will take time to get them playing well together - 1 league home defeat and you're ready to throw in the towel?? PJ knows we need defenders, but I would much rather that he gets the RIGHT players than just anyone. The team was in a big mess when he got the job and I think he's done great so far... we can't expect total miracles!
