There is no doubt that there was no foul on aston villa player going down ( supposedly ) injured and no head injury and the ref did not blow his whistle to stop the game so why should leeds utd put the ball out ? lets face it players and managers could tell players before the game to go down as if injured or with a supposedly head injury if they are in a bad position and need to get back behind the ball when the game is restarted also the ref indicated play on , it was only the Aston Villa players that wanted the ball put out which is not their job its the ref that does that , so i believe leeds utd were right to play on and score as you HAVE TO PLAY TO THE WHISTLE WHICH VILLA DID NOT DO THE VILLA PLAYERS TRIED TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE MATCH AND ASTON VILLA SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH BRINGING THE GAME INTO DISRIPUTE NOT LEEDS AS IT STARTED WITH THEM , whats your thinking on this ? I watched Elland's video post #141. As i saw it, the Villa player came into the tackle from behind and basically tripped himself. I saw nothing that indicated he had been injured, though he was apparently taken off and is under some doubt that he will play again soon. As for the rest, I agree with you, Sniffer, play to the whistle. There was some doubt in players' mind as to what was going to happen, but, hey, too late to worry about it now. As for Bielsa's allowing the goal, it wasn't important, no score would have made any difference to either team's position on the table.
You should alway play to the whistle and if you don't then taht your problem. And there is no way in hell that Bielsa should have giftet Villa that goal. I think the club should fine Bielsa for it.
The highlights show the incident. If you can read the lineman's lips, and body language, it looks like he's telling ref about the Bamford incident. Followme Leedsunited mentioned Klich was punched in stomach by the same player who got the red card, if that's the case, I think once the FA / FL have viewed the footage, Aston Villa may find themselves in more trouble than they think. Possibility, after viewing the incident that Villa could have 2 players suspended. Player ratings. Bamford gets the wet rag award and should be dropped and sold.
If we had won it would cemented our place in third, as it stands now if we lose to Ipswich and WBA win we'll be playing villa in the semis.
There was 1 thing with allowing the villa goal though , if it had stayed 1-0 to leeds , leeds would have definately finished 3rd and thus would play 6th in the play off semi final , by the game finishing 1-1 leeds still need a point to guarantee 3rd spot
From a Norwich fan. Leeds should really of put the ball out - it was the right thing to do. Ref should of asked them to put the ball out, knowing it was not a foul. The player went down in the center circle with plenty of cover behind him, so this was not a case of feigning injury so the villa defense could get organized. No rules broken (as with Spy Gate) in Leeds playing to the whistle. Bielsa is a high integrity individual (in my view) and took the corrective action accordingly. Bamford’s behavior was very poor, irrespective of any other incidents from other players. Bamford is a low integrity individual. All clubs have these types. His career will be damaged by this.
True , also villa should be charged with bringing the game into disripute with the attacking leeds players and the fist into clich stomach warrents the sending off if not 3 match ban
All clubs do have these including villas jack greilish who cons the ref and has done many times this season , bamford only done that once , but the sending off might not be for the bamford incident for the following reasons . 1. bamford was yellow carded so that could be for the face job . 2. the player who was grabbing bamford and got sent off earlier punched clich in the stomach which is a sending off .
We will see , full credit for leeds performance against villa lets keep it up going into the play offs , villa are not which is a bad sign for them also a few villa players might be missing for the play offs
Leeds would have put the ball out had the ref not spent most of the game being a total cock and Grealish diving across the pitch - I'm afraid by that stage there was so much ill will that it's no surprise we hesitated . Must admit Bielsa has better morals than I do, he's also cannier than I am as we now take the moral high ground and basically Aston Villa only draw when we let them..... That said Aston Villa were good but only good - thought they really were nothing special and certainly whilst it'd be a tough game there's also nothing for Leeds to fear if we play them in the final.
