Who has momentum? West Ham 2-1 Hull Leicester 1-2 West Ham Bristol City 1-1 West Ham West Ham 6-0 Brighton West Ham 3-3 Birmingham Barnsley 0-4 West Ham Birmingham 2-0 Reading Brighton 1-1 Birmingham Ipswich 1-1 Birmingham Birmingham 2-2 Bristol City West Ham 3-3 Birmingham Birmingham 3-1 Crystal Palace Burnley 1-3 Birmingham Millwall 2-2 Blackpool Blackpool 4-0 Burnley Blackpool 1-0 Leeds United Nottm Forest 0-0 Blackpool Blackpool 1-1 Barnsley Watford 0-2 Blackpool Blackpool 3-0 Southampton Crystal Palace 1-2 Cardiff Cardiff 1-1 Leeds United Cardiff 2-0 Derby Barnsley 0-1 Cardiff Cardiff 1-1 Watford Middlesbrough 0-2 Cardiff Too close to call??? I think so.
Personally, I think that West Ham shade it. Blackpool possibly 2nd & us or Brum 3rd. One thing for sure is, given these last result for all concerned, that this year not one team really has the edge.
My worry is our inability to put the ball in the back of the net as frequently as the others. However on a possitive note - we don't concede too many either.
I thought the Hammers looked very ordinary against Hull, and Hull should have got a point, i for once am feeling quietly confident.
We dont need to be scoring 2's and 3's (although it would help). Looking at the lists above, we've scored in all the last 6 and 3 clean sheets in there too...That will be the key to getting through to Wembley, and hopefully beyond.
There's only one team that's under extreme pressure to win the playoffs & that's West Ham . For once there seems to be little pressure for the Bluebirds to win the playoffs . I really do think Cardiff have payed there dues & will not only keep there good form going against West Ham but will go on to win at Wembley ... There the only team I want to win the playoffs because there the only team in it without reaching the Premier in recent history .
Ouch !... Listen , the last thing I was expecting was you having to make up two goals on the road . It's not over , but it's near ... I'm as shocked as anyone
Cardiff's only chance now is to free Whittingham up some room & hope he's having one of those fantastic days he's capable of . If not , it's probably his last game for Cardiff & probably Cardiff's last top 6 finish for more than at least a few seasons .
Sorry Breezey - I should have guessed. You missed out the bit about Sam coming back and putting us in admin.
You asked Sparky . I've never said " Sam will come back & put you in administration " .. nor do I want Cardiff to go into administration . The Malaysians have had two chances now to prop Cardiff up in in the last half of a season to strengthen the team for a promotion push . The first time with Jones when they could have paid off a bit of money to take away a wind up order & get a few players in . Now this season when the manager & team could have used a bit of help again , especially after such a great effort with so little a squad . The idea that not much help came in this latest time is because Malky couldn't find anyone just doesn't float , money was held back IMO . The Malaysians are more about control of a team than moving a team forward at opportune times .
Ahh, I see, it's as you say "IMO". You're entitled to express them like anyone else, though why you choose to pepper this board with them is something of a mystery. Unfortunately, neither us over here, nor certainly you over there, can have anything other than uninformed opinions as to the behind doors situation at CCFC. Maybe you're right, but let's just say that when you post your "guesses", they tend to come over as wishful thinking.
Not wishful thinking at all Sparky , I respect the Cardiff manager & team , as I have in the past . But there accomplishments of this season , with what they've had for a squad , are nothing short of amazing really & the " Investors " didn't play there part expanding the squad IMO ... again .
Breezey - there is no question that we have done well with the squad assembled by Malky at the start of the season. There is also no doubt that I am in total agreement with you and have said as much on here many times, that our failure to strengthen in Jan has brought us from genuine auto contenders to playoff hangers-on. What you don't know, as well as us who support Cardiff City, is just why that didn't happen. You are making assumptions about our Malaysian owners that have no basis in fact - they're just "guesses".
Well I'll try to come up with a better guess why Cardiff never strengthened in this past window or the one , a few Januaries ago , that a few million to pay off a wind up order would have made possible when the Malaysians were first taking over , but until then , what's your guess why nobody came through the door Sparky . P.S. I'll also bet that the Malaysians' happiest day was the one Peter was finally run off & they had no one to answer to .
