While sat here watching Brentford v Swindon and what a pulsating game it is you'd have to say love 'em. Pure excitement,as most so far have been. From our point of view I'd say hate 'em. Nerve jangling. Nail biting. Shouting at the tv. And we've not had greatest of success either.

    You gotta love 'em.
It gives you something to aim for. It would be pretty boring if only the top three teams were promoted each year.

Hate 'em,Promotion should be decided over the season not artificial money spinning gimmick.Takes no account of teams who miss out on automatic promotion by a whisker and then have to face opponents they were several points ahead of all season.(Wet Sham anyone-not that I'm bitter-much!)Would have more time for them if there was some handicap system based on points etc.

Tend to agree with you, however I feel if we have them for going up, why not have them for going down as well? Or do a leg between the 18th team in the premiership and the 3rd team in the Championship.

Enjoyable game. I like how Yeovil play and I'd love to see them do it.

Better was to come later though, by this time tomorrow the budgies could well be just ahead of Newcastle and only out of the relegation zone by the margin of one goal!

Without the play offs several teams ambitions could be ended for the season, and they would just be playing out dead games. Can see the anti play off brigades point of view, and from a technical point of view they are correct, however football is an entertainment business. The Brentford v Yeovil match was pulsating excitement, and former town player Ed Upson had two good games, making one yesterday, and then scoring the winner. Just hope he is not another that has got through the net.

My memory is of early play-offs involving 18th in Prem but I could be wrong?

I think they're usually great games, it's unfair but they're exciting and it gives more teams something to play for!!

Probably getting promoted by the play off is one of the best experiences - its like a cup final in the fact its a one-off game at a massive stadium with all to play for but it takes the piss if the team who finished 6 is promoted and they finished the normal season 10 or more points behind the team who finished in 3rd. Promotion should be earnt over the whole season and not on the luck of 1 game.
