Garth Crooks describing Chelsea Right Back Ivanovic............

What a glorious strike by the Serb. To catch a volley so sweetly requires some technique but to do it with your weaker foot tells you all you need to know about the quality of this player. He reminds me of Liverpool legend Graeme Souness, who could also pass it, control it, score the occasional goal and out-battle his opponent all at the same time. Now that's what I call world class.

Good player Ivanovic but stupid comparison.

Sturridge was good this weekend he reminds me of David Seaman.

  2. I say the headline saying he'd compared someone to Souness but couldn't be arsed to read it to find out who.

The team the Garth's picked looks bloody terrible too <laugh> (I know its not picked for team effectiveness)

Crooks is a crook at football punditry. His thoughts and feelings on football are just weird.

He always just picks players that score and it doesn't matter if they are a RB or CB, he'll stick them at lb like he's done with Bruce this week <laugh>

3cb's, 1rb, 1 winger in ibe (who admittedly played RWB, 2 attacking midfielders in Willian and drinks on and 3 proper cfs in Kane Maine and ings but stuck 2 of them out wide.

Makes the the whole thing a mockerys of team of the week.

I was looking through the midfielders to see which one it was and couldn't find it, I then spotted in when scrolling up. <laugh>

I think Garth forms part of the Beeb's quota of the mentally challenged.

Ivanovic should be compared to garry neville.... at best.

The guy is a good full back but he is a CB playing RB and it does show in how most sides leave his sdie totally open safe in the knowledge little threat comes that way.

he's very sound, very good but why would you make a pointless comparision to a CM. surely yuo compare to RBs.

nothing like a cafu or alves he's an old school defender.

    Ivanovic is tasty.

    Ask Luis Suarez.

  10. Same. I scanned it quickly. Looked at CMs (names) and thought it can't be any of them. Scanned Mane's write up before giving up.

The funny thing is Ivanovic was at fault for Villa's goal, he totally lost his man.

Appearing on the BBC is the special activity organised for him when he's on his weekly day release from the clinic
