http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/201112-pitmanloandeal-498232.aspx Brett Pitman has re-signed for AFC Bournemouth on loan until January 3rd. The Jersey-born striker returns to Seward Stadium to rejoin the Cherries, the team whom City paid a significant six-figure sum to secure his services in August 2010. The loan deal for the 24-year-old runs into the first week of January 2013. Manager Derek McInnes told bcfc.co.uk: âThis is a good chance to go and get regular match action, which Brett hasnât enjoyed here at Bristol City recently. âHeâll relish the chance of a return to Bournemouth and Iâm sure heâll do well for them. I wish him luck with the loan. âIf all goes well then it could lead to something further.â Pitman started Cityâs Capital One Cup clash with Gillingham at the start of the season and has been restricted to just three substitute appearances since. In total he has scored 20 goals in 81 outings for the club.
Clearly del see's no future for him at our club with a comment like this “If all goes well then it could lead to something further.” Think we may have seen pitman for the last time. Good player but not quite good enough. Hope he does well
Pitman unfortunetely needs a team built around him not the other way round. Brilliant jack in the box who will go onto score a lot of goals for someone. He joined us when we needed fighters for the ball which is not his style. Sorry to see him go as I said he really is a threat, but if he's not being paid maybe we can get some money back for him now rather than wait till the end of the season, where he would be free.
He will suit Bournemouth very well at that level. Not convinced he's ever really going to be a top Championship player.
McInnes has made a strong point of building his own attacking force with all the signings he's made in those positions. He wants Pitman out and with that language I doubt we'll see him in a Bristol City shirt again. It's a shame, because he was good for us and was never really appreciated by the fans or the manager.
I liked Pitman had a good left foot and not scared to shoot. For whatever reason, never really got a good run in the side. Can't believe he's still only 24!! Best wishes to him and only hope he doesn't come back and score a hatfull against us.
Quality striker will score where ever he goes,5th in pecking order here, but will score goals,I would go as far as saying the best finisher at the club.
