I used to love a balti pie before the match at the SOL.

Pint in one hand pie in the other.

    Do they still do them?

Pies are a big part of every Kiwis diet but nowt like a SOL balti

Now you have moved into an area of expertees for me, pies. Without doubt the biggest challenge at any game is trying to eat a steak pie. They are served at a temprature so hot that they could solve the worlds heating problems. You think carrying them to your seat is a task but wait untill you break through the crust, a volcanic heat erupts and people behind complain that they cant see the pith through the steam. The trick is, eat the crust and then scrape the filling out using a plastic fork provided. Never had a balti pie.

thats why the pint was so important (well one of the reasons)............. to sooth the heat blisters that formed on the roof of the mouth.
Had a brain wave once……………… decided to use one as a hand warmer and stuck it in my jacket pocket……………….. went to syphon the python before kick off…….. did not realise that the pie had gotten squashed in the scrum at the bogs…………….. its making my finger hurt just thinking about it….stained the jacket as well

safc have recently stated that pies will once more be on sale at the sol now that police have solved the case of the missing shipments due to arrive at the stadium

Another top tip Syd is to buy your chosen pie on entering the stadium, stick it under your seat where it will keep you warm for 45 minutes on a cold winters day then at half time it becomes edible, eat said pie then nip to the bar for a second pie at half time and repeat process, this way you keep warm for 90 minutes and go home full and with a good dose of heartburn to boot.

I Have no doubt that you are telling pork pies there!!!!

As for the original question, it is yonks since I had a pie at the match, so if they do sell balti pies I will try one at the Liverpool game!

This is something i feel VERY strongly about.

A balti pie is ESSENTIAL to my matchday well being, they are almost as important to me as the match itself, i'm deadly serious as well.

They ain't even good pies, but at the match, with a cider, they are frankly sensational.

I remember at the Stoke game earlier this season they had sold out, ruined my whole day.

Despite the fact we won, i whinged for about 3 hours after the match that i hadn't had my culinery treat for the day.

The beer at the match is truly appaling, as a sidenote.

Are they £3.50? Never even noticed that!

I'm usually about 6 Magners deep on arrival at the SOL mind.

For the record, i'd pay double!

If the cost is the issue we would not go near a football match, the club shop, eat or drink
