    A bit of light relief.
See if you can name the jockeys.
PS. What's the famous horse in Picture 5?

Hanging my head in shame at not knowing any. But it is early morning for me. I'll have a look later Tam. I'm sure Bustino will get a few.

Think you are right about Hutchinson, is the first one of the trio Bill Williamson and I'd take a punt on the middle one being Garnie Bougoure

    Three aussies, makes sense.
Sad when you jockeys that were kids when you were growing up that are now old men. Time is a thief.

I remember Cauthen coming over to ride here, was it for Hills? Such a fanfare but such a talent!

Definitely Gordon Richards (the greatest jockey allegedly).

    Stick
don't those 3 look old? As Hutchinson is there it's got to be pre-75 I think. Weary Willie looks absolutely knackered. Be interested to know who the middle one is.

No clue with no. 4 but know I'll kick myself

Yes Hills had Cauthen as he was Sangster's jockey and Hills trained the horses so is in the picture. Don't know who the other person is. If it was a pub quiz I'd say Tony Shead, but only because it might be pre-2000G 1979.

OK lads, here are the answers that are correct- any you've missed I 'll leave open for a while.

1.Young Steve Cauthen talking to Barry Hills.
    2. Aussie Scobie Breasley.
    3. ? Epsom Derby winning jockey.
    4. Gordon Richards
    5. Sandy Barclay riding Royal Palace
    6. ? Clue- a top NH jockey when he was young.
    7. Lester Piggott- what a great photo!
    8. Aussies Bill Williamson, Garnie Bougoure, and Ron Hutchinson.
    9. Young Walter Swinburn.
    10. Stan Mellor, Bill Rees, and David Nicholson.

Well done to both Kowloon Kev and Stick. <applause>
I'll post the other 2 answers at tea time.
Meanwhile here's another one to be going on with...
Name the first three home from this last hurdle. Clue. Recognise the horse in second place will help.

    3. Guess it's Ernie Johnson on Blakeney

    6. NH Jockey I'm guessing Paul Kelleway

The finish: Bula, Persian War and Major Rose at Cheltenham?

I'm pleased about Garnie Bougoure. I can hear a lot of people saying "who him"

    Number 3 is Alan Munro.
Number 6 is a young Josh Gifford

The finish is the 1966 Champion Hurdle- Salmon Spray jumping the last from Flyingbolt (finished 3rd) and Sempervivum (finished 2nd).
I thought someone would have recognised Flyingbolt & PatTaaffe.

PS. Garnie Bougoure was a good one. I wouldn't have got him- probably guessed Neville Sellwood.
