As we approach mid season before the busy Christmas period and our last home game before the big day we welcome the Wombles to Adams Park and and we will be looking to pick up from where we left off on Tuesday night, the Wombles are one of our boggy teams and it's been seven years since our last victory but we are a different beast these days. Gaz will be hoping that Omicron hasn't got into the squad with the unexplained absence of Anthony Stewart on Tuesday night although the makeshift back three of Grimmer, Forino and JJ coped very well with what the Brewers threw at them. There will just be the two of us on Saturday with Blue Slasher absent without leave so just me and the boy looking to see the lads carry on from where they left off on Tuesday with a good display and result in our quest to be top of the Christmas tree
Some of the London teams are no more or at least playing at level nowhere near the Isthmian League level, I seem to remember one name from those Wimbledon sides a centre forward called Reynolds
Walthanstowe Avenue had a classy player. Forgotten his name but Lewis rings a bell Not Isthmian League but a team we played a few times, Pegasus had a very good grey haired winger, Pawson I think Then there was the Leatherhead ace who caused havoc with Football League sides in the FA Cup, forgotten his name, and the winger from a northern team (Spennymoor or Skelmersdale?) went to Liverpool. His name will come to me but right now I'm drawing a blank Got it, Steve Heighway
Apparently it was a lob from outside the penalty area i look forward to seeing that, when was the last time he scored that far from goal? He must be knackered and thought "F*ck it i can't run any further"
