Needs to see far less of the ball in the next game. Don't understand why they kept passing it back to him like he was an 11th outfield player.

Just the way they play, trying to draw out the other team (you knew that)

I love his anger/madness/passion, showing it seems to help calm him, even if he looks crazy

Yeah, probably best we don't draw the team into a press when we can't deal with a press though.

It's not a criticism of Pickford, love the lad and last night you'd have been forgiven for thinking he was the captain on the pitch.

But I sure as **** hope we see a lot less of him in the next game.

Stones never looked comfortable on the ball and I think it’s probably quite a change from what he’s used to at club level for Guehi. At least when Maguire is playing he’s constantly looking to get the ball into midfield.

Love the way the team use Pickford.

I remember my mate telling me about 5 years ago - Watching the lads playing 6-aside. Nobody could get the ball off Cats or Pickford.

They both have great quick feet.

Which is why Pickford is trusted a last line of defence, like an outfield player or a sweeper.

Not many keepers in the World with these skills...

    One of our own!!!!

He's the only keeper who doesn't seem to be calm during the matches.
Used to be the little unfancied teams who had flamboyant keepers.

Hes certainly no shrinking violet is our Jordan, love to see him help England to the final , then go one better. The draw has been so favourable to us, and after last night anything is possible. OaU

Been absolutely shire so far but it's almost like he draw is on our side!

I'm not at all confident they can beat anyone but I wouldn't be shocked if they scraped their way all the way to the final and even lifted the trophy with a combined total of about 60 minutes decent football (they've had about 25 minutes so far and that's very generous! <laugh>)

I'm not against this at all, but it requires the team to play faster and off fewer touches to work.

We've been so chronically slow at moving the ball its ended up with us being so easy to press.

Move the ball faster, take fewer touches, make runs off the ball, get defenders turned and facing their own goal.

    Basics unfortunately!

Just watched a YouTube clip of a fan park in N'yacastle, booming over the PA system "Saved by Jordan Pickford", everyone cheering.

If you mean the through ball he came for then retreated, I actually think he did superbly well. Had the ball run into a goal scoring position, he’d have been there first. As soon as he knew he wasn’t getting there and the striker was forced wide, he went back. So many keepers would’ve kept chasing the lost cause and ended up I completely in no man’s land. He was clever enough to know he had time to get back and that the striker had a lot of work to to do. IMO of course
