Am I alone in getting a bit tired of quality players being targeted , only to read Everton, Scum and AN Other seem to be interested? Why don't the EPL guys simply chat to each other? This would save so much on players being hyped and agents playing teams against one another. Harry Rednap was recently on TV to say he had no idea of the wages players were on nor who was coming in..............difficult to believe but seems managers target players and leave chairmen to do the bidding. Classic case in point is Gameiro.............was he ever going to sign?
Gamiero at least stated Valencia was his preferred choice with PSG second. Lorient accepted the bid that allowed us to chat with him but his intentions were pretty clear that he was never going to come to the Premier League; let alone Newcastle. The press are still speculating about signings as most clubs have retained their cards close to their chests in terms of players they'd like. Surprised to hear Pardew come out in the press with the names of Ba and Erdinc earlier because usually Ashley likes to go about the signings quietly.
Has anybody read Phil McNulty on the BBC page? ........................ it was a satisfactory season for Newcastle but expect a lively summer - one way or the other - in readiness for August.
I bet Pardew will go on about all these transfer targets and then we'll just sign somebody totally out of the blue that we've never heard of. Could end up a 'tiote-esque' signing or they could turn out to be ****e.
There's always the possibility that Pardew is going public cos he knows we have little chance of really signing them... More a PR stunt...
