We need some VE day last minute entries.

    Don't be embarrassed!

I won't be posting the 'outfit' I'm supposed to be wearing. How I've become roped into this is beyond me.

I might have to take a look at Seychelles. Is there much in the way of snorkelling and other bits to do? With lockdown ****ing up my holiday plans this year I’ve had holiday refunds which I think I’ll put towards a holiday when restrictions lift. Been looking at Mauritius or Maldives so far.

If I can get longer off work I’ll head over to Australia but I doubt I’ll be able to get the time off this year as I had some long trips last year.

There’s plenty to see and do, and it’s stunningly beautiful. It’s a place to go and stay for a few days on a few of the different islands, Mahe being the largest and the capital. Mauritius doesn’t hold a candle to it imo. but that’s not to say Mauritius isn’t lovely and well worth a visit.

I’ve never considered going to places like that. Too long on a plane and do you not get bored of just looking at white sandy beaches? I like a bit of culture when I go on holiday. The Caribbean has never appealed. I’d like to do Thailand and Vietnam.

We’re not sitting on the beach types mate, we’ll do a bit of chilling, but we like to travel about and take in the sights / culture.

That’s why I asked about snorkelling or other stuff to do. Don’t get me wrong I love sitting getting pissed on a beach in the sun with a good book but normally like some other stuff to do. Depends how work has been and how much I want to relax!

The Caribbean has places like Cuba which are epic to explore and some of the islands have really good snorkelling, plus Caribbean food is awesome!

In my experience Thailand is mega touristy and Vietnam is going the same way. They’re my least favourite places in SE Asia. Don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of interesting stuff and you’d have a good time but there’s better places in SE Asia. Check out Cambodia or Myanmar!

didn't really like cambodia. Found vietnam far more chilled (i did do a lot more of it) and interesting whereas cambodia (to be fair i only went to siem reap) was more of a tourist death trap. So many people, the locals didn't give a **** about you and just wanted your money (vietnam was a little like that but they did it with a smile).

This about about 7 years ago though so maybe things have changed

Yeah Cambodians don’t like the Chinese as they are pillaging their country. So that might be why they weren’t nice to you <laugh>

Cambodians were some of the most friendly and happy people I met round the world. For a country that’s been through so much to be so happy is incredible. They were really welcoming!

Siem Reap is the most touristy place in the country yet still not as money hungry as Thailand or Vietnam who just see foreigners as cash cows.

The Vietnamese on the other hand are nice to the Chinese and twats to white people as the older ones blame white people for all their problems. The young ones are nice and want to learn about other cultures, the old ones were total ****s. Particularly on the buses. Got shouted at constantly by methed up tweaking bus drivers who would throw all the white peoples bags around and give them the **** seats at the back of the bus above the engine even when other seats were empty.
