I get that they can only include so many words in the dictionaries for predictive text because they're only going to be allocated so much space for it in the memory, but how do they decide which words to put in? I tried tying Belgian earlier on and it corrected it to Afghanistan because Belgian wasn't in the dictionary. Surely with things like Belgian chocolate it's more likely to be used than Afghanistan in text messages. Are there any other odd ones people have come across?
I get loads, I think the more recent iOS remembers things you typed, because certain sequences of words sometimes autocorrect themselves into senseless rabble I must have tried writing when I was drunk. I can decipher its the very same sequence of words I'm trying to type but at some point ive ****ed up massively and my phones remembered it. It does **** around with a lot of words of its own accord as well.
Afghanistan may be a more popular word than you suspect in text messages. Especially for racist jokes.
Mine definitely remembers things you type as most of the City players are in there now. Select and reject being the same key combination is good as well.
I just tried typing 'Belgian', my phone didn't get all Nazi and insist on changing it to something entirely different, but it did suggest I was in fact trying to write 'giantawaking'. I've just come across one of the autocorrects that pisses me off constantly, changing 'on' and 'in' at randomly, it just did it in the sentence above the ****ing useless ****.
