From WLS """" QPR are discussing a potential deal to sell Matt Phillips to Watford. West Brom, who had a bid for the winger rejected during the summer transfer window, have indicated that they are still interested, while Bournemouth are monitoring developments. Watford have now also shown an interest but favour a player exchange, whereas QPR want a straight cash deal. Phillips, 24, was signed from Blackpool in 2013 and attracted interest from a number of clubs with some excellent displays during the second half of last season. Rangers demanded £10m for him in the summer but his form this season has been less impressive. QPR are open to offers for a number of players and are especially keen to offload Sandro and goalkeeper Rob Green. ""
Tell Watford/Bournemouth/West Brom to stump up the cash because they will be getting a fabulous player whose work rate is 2nd to none, does a huge amount of selfless tracking back to help out his full back, scores as many goals as he makes, all round good egg..........
Nice! But if we sell Phillips we'll need someone else who has the ability to get in crosses like he can, they don't come cheap. I hope we keep Phillips myself, also hope we keep Fer. I'll be happy to see Green go, and not too bothered if Sandro goes too, but with Austin for me these 3 transfer outs would be enough for now. Too many changes could see us really in a relegation battle.
Watford have better players though he's got the ability if he'd just put some effort in. I still expect him to go to West Brom.
He's not been playing as a right midfielder, he's an attacking right mid. There is a difference. So more emphasis of him being near the striker and need for DCM (normally Henry) to move across and cover Play him in his proper position and he's a very good player at this level No swap deal though, just cash. We always get done like Breaker and Dowie as part of Sinclair sale
There's really not much difference. Both require a much higher work rate than he puts in. Took his goal well though.
And how much do you think would be realistic for Phillips? In the summer I thought £3 million would be close & that asking £10 m was outlandish! £3 million now would be very good business.
If Andros Townsend is worth £10m then asking 7-8 for Phillips is very reasonable. I can only be worth a couple of million less than Townsend.
Didn't realise thought was 28 29 range ... He was quality when with us and not a starter at Swansea no more ... We may need a quick replacement that will fill that gap ....
Routledge would be better than Harriman , Harriman can come off the bench for next season .... I was just throwing the name out there , he roasts championship defenses for fun .... Who else could we get in as a attacking winger ? Harriman would t quite cut it just yet but next season who knows .
I was joking. Our wise board opted to sell him for a song a couple of weeks ago. I'd give Petrasso a run unless there's some dirt cheap player from Burton or something similar available.
