Noticed he said on sky sports when asked about new players we hope to try and get 1 or 2 players in. Warnock was talking about getting 3 to 4 players in. Has the amount of new players we will buy changed now Neil has gone?
Within reason, I suspect the board will sanction pretty much whatever the new manager advises is needed to keep the team up
More like Warnock was pulling a Billy Davies and trying to deflect blame onto players/board for not having a strong enough team. I suspect we will still get 3 or 4 players in but its better to not tell everyone youre going on a spending spree.
"It is a tricky month to try and make things happen but our appetite is to bring one or two players in if we can to strengthen the squad and the new manager will be part of that as soon as we can identify him and spend time looking at some of our targets." Neil wanted 4 or 5 players it now seems it's 2 maybe this was the reason he was sacked
Without wishing to start a long and boring argument along familiar lines, I presume you mean that Defoe may no longer be top of our list??
LOL I thought PB come accross very well and was obviously under pressure doing that interview. He may have not quoted correctly. I think that Hughes will get the money he needs and he has got all the contacts to bring the right players to the club.
I mentioned this in the thread I did on Beard's interview earlier. The board and NW were in discussions over the last few days regarding today's announcement. I feel if this is correct then this is why there was no energy or pazaaz at the MK Dons game and the team werejust going through the motions... Thoughts??
Exactly what I was thinking Renault. Col and other witnesses reported the team looking solemn getting off the bus at MKD, and a pregnant silence in the dugout during the game. There'd also been reports over the past few weeks of discontent in the dressing room and clearly nout going on on the pitch. Added to this (quality) press speculation on the outcome of the board meeting on transfers and Fernandes disagreeing with Warnock's targets, particularly Samba.
They all knew alright, they all knew. I feel mugged off going to that game, full of hope and expectation, thousands of 'R's backing our beloved. This is the game that will turn our season around. But behind the scenes it was a scam. I feel cheated. 6 -7,000 Rangers fans going to MK, and giving our all. As a per-centage of our fan-base that is a pretty huge following. Can any team better that? And then today, Quite franckly... I'm ****ing outraged!
Have to agree with that. I think the board were not willing to let NW go crazy because he already had one bite of the cherry. But any new manager will be allowed to buy whoever he wants (within reason) to keep us up.
