On TV right now, talking about football managers getting sacked too fast. Paul Ince must have been busy. He kept talking about signing more and more players. I wonder why managers aren't so keen on giving him money to spend... On a related note, Powell is now the 22nd longest serving manager in the top 4 divisions. Can he make the top 20?
I had the telly on in the background, thought he said something along the lines of " Sometimes a manager is only allowed to sign 3 players in the transfer window. How does that give him any chance to express his football philosophy?" Poss. misheard.
Yes it' been a farce for many years now, in football. For any manager to not be given atleast one full season, to me, i just can't comprehend how the people in control think it is a viable/justified decision to give anyone the ass so soon. They run the show, and they choose to let managers go faster than your paycheck.. it's farcical !
I think you heard right. Sorry if I put it wrong in OP. Is it my imagination or did Brown basically close down the academy (or whatever it was called) at Preston? I could be imagining that.
