That is the interesting quote actually - who asked them to ring the FL?

    Raises just more questions.

How did the story get leaked that the PFA had phoned the FL? Was it anyone connected with Tal Ben Haim? (ie Andranokou perhaps?)

According to Gordon Taylor "The administrators were looking to pass the blame to someone and we were a very convenient excuse."

    Shenanigans!!!!

The logical answer would be one of their members. They're going to be interested in a solution which sees them paid back quicker.

You're putting my lovely club........... and the word "logical" in the same sentence? <laugh>

They are the equivalent of a trade union, so of course they had to check out what was going on, that's natural. It's the rest of it that is "shenanigans".

It's a bit of politically motivated mischief - so much so that the leader of Pompey Council has publicly written to Gordon Taylor - that will be an attempt to diffuse the situation.

I know political manouvering when I see it!

I emailed the PFA when news broke about the adjournment and the supposed involvement of the PFA first broke.........never in my wildest dreams did I expect a reply..............but this afternoon I actually got a personal response, a whole two pages from Gordon Taylor OBE

He did not waffle, he did not skip round my questions........he got straight to the point with direct answers and a lengthy bit about how he feels PKF are doing us wrong ( I think we all know that any way) but some of what he says makes for interesting reading!

In his mail he is adamant that he feels the PFA were used as a scapegoat.........

Wow BP - he must be very pissed off to be so open and direct.

Any chance of a brief resume on the PKF bit?

Anyway we must be getting near to the finish line as things seem to have gone awry on twitter and there are fans at each others throats.

Why are the people of Portsmouth North blessed with a "show-pony" of an MP? Given his reply, Camerson gave the issue scant regard! Says a lot about "Penny!"

I think Cameron's response was due to the fact that it's not really a central government issue.

Why did she bother raising the issue knowing Cameron's response? He is highly dismissive of certain female backbenchers in his own party, "dearest Penny" being one of them!!

I remember him suggesting a couple of months ago that Portsmouth fans should support Southampton if the team is liquidated <yikes>

Clearly he does not know footie on the South Coast <laugh>

I think there is a blue few Saints supporters on here anyway.
Saintsblue3 is a fine example of a joint supporter.
He can never stop talking about Southampton FC and the way he has stayed quietly off the board as a respect to his fellow Pompey supporters as they lay at the base of Division 1 in desperate times, Must be so so difficult when he just wants to shout it from the roof top, How well the mighty Reds are doing in the best league in the world but can't without upsetting some only Blue supporters.
    Total respect to the man.

Sounds a lot like superbluelordduckhunter. His obsession with us is unhealthy and has led me to believe he is a Pompey fan. Or just a sad old man who needs to get out more.

I have to apologise to Gordon Taylor (I used another email address that I had not checked), indeed he did also reply to me today. I appears that its the administrators who caused the latest issue, not explaining to the PFA how the players were moving down the pay list from first to I think he said second (or third) behind the Council. They had not objected to this but had asked for clarity which the admins had delayed in providing, they are clearly unhappy that the blame has been pointed at them.

The admins act in an incompetent manner? There's a surprise <doh>
