    United - 4
    Arsenal - 3
    City - 2
    Chelsea - 1
    Spurs - 1

Almost exactly like the PL table was when most of the voting took place back in Feb. Shame there are no players from outside the top 5 in there - some of the teams lower down in the table have performed very well this season.

I think Rafael should have been in the Young Player category. Especially considering how well he handled the overall winner on the occasions they met.

Cole is only there through default, should be Baines in my opinion.

Good shout. Last season and this he has been a real threat down the left hand side.

Interesting to see how only 4 of those players went to the World Cup as well. I think it partly explains how poor Chelsea have been this season given how many of their squad are seasoned internationals.

Sagna also seems a pretty odd choice for RB - I didn't think he was having a great season overall. Being sent off twice and at fault for one of the West Brom goals doesn't seem like TOTS form. It seems that, in the absence of any standout performers in some positions, the players just choose the player with the highest profile. Although I could be wrong about Sagna - haven't really paid much attention to him this season.

Alot of people give the PFA Award more credence than the Writers', because they say that the players are better judges than anybody. But I don't think this is necessarily the case. I think the PFA is a bit of a popularity contest more than a poll to see who has actually been the best player. Charles N'Zogbia was on the radio before and he revealed that he'd voted for Samir Nasri. Now I don't mean this in any way to be racist or xenophobic, but it doesn't surprise me that a Frenchman with African roots has voted for a Frenchman with African roots. Just as I imagine England players will vote for their England mates.

Sagna has been one of our best players this season, certainly our most consistent. Normally (west brom is an exception) he is never beaten by an attacker, he has improved his crossing and offensive skills a lot (more goals this season than all the others put together) and is completely tireless. He doesn't get much recognition as he doesn't speak to the press but no Arsenal fan has a bad word to say about him, and you know how much we love to moan <laugh>

I agree that there is probably a lot of players voting for their mates (which is how Cole got in), but the players picked will always be good rather than substandard. Insomnia may have picked Nasri due to his nationality but I doubt his nationality was the main reason he was picked.

Fair enough - that's probably why I hadn't heard much about him this season - no Arsenal fans complaining about him! <laugh>

Although when you say "more goals this season than all the others put together", you fail to mention that his total number of goals this season is two...

<laugh> I thought I could confuse you with a stat. Still for a full back thats decent. On second thoughts I would definitely have Modric over Wilshire.
