The team is: Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester), Kieran Trippier (Burnley), Aaron Cresswell (Ipswich), Wes Morgan (Leicester), Jason Shackell (Burnley), Danny Drinkwater (Leicester), Andy Reid (Nottingham Forest), Craig Bryson (Derby), Will Hughes (Derby), Danny Ings (Burnley), Ross McCormack (Leeds). 3 City players in it can't really complain about the selections apart from Will Hughes how does he get in it and also fat boy Andy Reid.
Will hughes has been a bit overhyped this season - good for his age, yes, but hasnt stood out. Reid has also done well but apart from that hard to argue with. Until the last 7 or so games Dyer i thought would have been a shoe-in and actually quite unlucky if you remember just how good he was at the beginning. Marney from Burnley i think is more deserving than those 2.
Bit harsh on Jordan Rhodes considering he was the second highest scorer. Would have though the front two would pick themselves. Also interesting that Vardy has been so crucial for us yet doesn't figure - but considering he scored 12 goals less than McCormack I suppose you can understand why. If he'd taken all the penos he'd won and avoided injury, it would have been a different story.
McCormack and Rhodes should both be there, for them to score that many goals at fairly average (this season) clubs deserves it really. You would have thought they are both in the same category, so you'd have both of them, or neither, but the FA has its own way of deciding things
Not the FA m'duck ... this is the PFA 'Professional Footballers Association' awards - so it is the players that have voted ... arguably the best award as it's recognition from your fellow professionals ....
There are a lot of quality strikers in the division this year, so I can understand Vardy missing out, but I still think he should be up there. Hughes and Reid not nearly as influential for their teams. I think people will be surprised by Jamie Vardy next season, I think he could really hack it in the top flight. Personally I think we should go all out to sign McCormack, who seems to perform well in struggling sides, and whatever anyone says, we are going to struggle in the Premier League next year!
I put a thread on the Leeds board a short while ago asking what they thought about him re the Prem ... very mixed response ... majority negative..
You did put that thread on while he was having a very poor run goalscorers are goalscorers but he is an arrogant twat lol
