Not a bad wee show on BBC three last night and available on the iplayer http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0386lnc/Petrol_Bombs_and_Peace_Welcome_to_Belfast/ A Donegal born catholic journalist Alys Harte spent time with the Pride of Ardoyne flute band over the summer. Some gems in this show included Alys enjoying herself with the lads and claiming that she can understand why people like the bands so much. And another when she was interviewing a member of the band who helped build the local bonfire. As she stands back in amazement she asks "What will you do with it now?" "Burn it" was the hilarious yet straight to the point answer
2 girls were on it from nationalist ardoyne side, milking it quite a bit. One said she never slept in her room during the 12th as the bands went past her house. That was a lie. Showed the wee scally putting bin liners over her window incase they got put through. She claimed to have no interest in the 12th yet was sown at 8.30am at the counter protest.
Some of it was amusing I thought. Did you see them talking about the KAH grafitti that Rebs said didn't exist. Grant Mitchell's should be better though
I was offered a job in Dublin and Mrs Pud coudl have relocated to Belfast ... thanks **** I said no, as would probably ended up living in the North!
