.........................................................SATURDAY 25TH AUGUST AT 3.00PM Leeds travel down to London Road on Saturday on the back a ANOTHER midweek loss, this time at the hands of Blackpool. We can't have too many complaints, they dominated the game, and we got what we deserved. Looks like Green will be out of action for a couple of months, and with the likes of Pugh just not good enough, we will either have to change our formation, or surely bring in Brown. Peterborough are likely to be missing £1.1million striker Tyrone Barnett due to a hamstring strain but full-back Mark Little has shaken off an ankle knock and is fit to play. During this fixture last season Leeds snatched a 3-2 victory through Darren O’Dea’s dramatic late volley (5th min of fegie time), overcoming a Peterborough side reduced to 10 men by Lee Tomlin’s first-half dismissal.
Leeds have to be beating teams like Posh, no excuses! I can't see Colin accepting anything other than three points, so the players will know exactly what is needed following Tuesday's disappointment.
Agree entirely Billy. Its one thing to lose to Blackpool on a Tuesday night against a decent team with our side still getting used to each other. It's another thing to not comfortably beat Posh. 3-0 Leeds please
The worrying thing is POSH have suffered two defeats and will be "backs to the walls" and desperate to get at least a point on the board. Mackail Smith has given us the run around in the past but at least we have some legs at the back now. Would like to see two genuine wide players for when we play away from home so at least we could hit the long diaganol when under pressure to give us an outlet and start a counter. I would play Kenny Pelts Pearce Lees Drury Austin Norris Nunez McCormack White Beccio And I would tell White and Nunez to not come more than 5 foot off the touchline "get chalk on your boots son" - when they push up the full back moves forward to cover and the centre halfs glide accross a bit. Its not rocket science - two bruisers in the middle to win the ball and distribute either to full back/winger/mccormack and then the man in the hole who can pick a pass and shoot so Ross is ideal and Beccio running the line. Christ no wonder im great on Football Manager LOL
We desperately need some width - I hope Warnock is working on this and I would be looking at the Loan market for this area. Surely there are a couple of hungry young kids kicking their heels at a Prem Club who could do a Job (have something to prove). Lloyd Sam is tidy at times but too slow. Nunez and White the only options really - Pugh and Varney are not wide men and Ross is wasted out there.
Mackail Smith left us over a year ago. please keep up! By the way... what sort of form is Beckford in?
I know mate - im normally spot on with these things but today I fell like John Doe in Steen Seagals Hard to Kill!!!!
Nothing less than 3 points is acceptable. I can accept being outplayed by a classy blackpool outfit but not this lot. -------------Kenny Peltier--- Lees ---Pearce---Drury --------Austin---- Norris Diouf----- Mccormack----- White ------------Becchio Round pegs in round holes in the back 4 2 combative midfielders And pace (white) and creativity (Ross Mc and diouf- the only 2 creative players we have) in behind becchio
Same team as I would have picked although Diouf frm the bench for me - his pace when fresh coming on is about the same as a tired defender whose played 70 minutes or so!!! Only then can he have an impact - not from the start!!
