When Peterborough scored the late goal one of fergusons side kicks(think it might have been the assistant manager)turns to the fans behind the dugout and starts thrusting his clenched fists in the air and starts giving verbals to the crowd.This winds up the gills fans and 2 or 3 irate supporters try to get to him resulting in stewards and police getting involved .It all got very heated.Then one of the stewards involved collapsed ,probably due to the incident and had to be treated by medics.The incident was witnessed by both fans and stewards but the police did not even speak to him.At no time did i hear or see him get any abuse from the crowd so why he felt the need to incite the crowd i dont know.
Football is an emotional sport mate. Never meant to physically hurt anyone. Shame what happened but he was just rubbing it in that his team had scored. Just emotions got the better of him.
That as may be - but if I swear or provoke a breach of the peace in the stadium I risk being arrested. A few games ago, at a home match ( can't remember which ) one of the opposing players was close to the touchline near to me on the Gordon Road side, when he was injured ( although suspected of feigning so as to waste time ). As he made the obligatory departure off the pitch following treatment, some of the crowd jeered at the antics of the player. The chap responded to the crowd by telling them to 'Go and procreate in another place' - ( his actual two words contained the letter F three time ! and very audible ) The lineman was directly next to this chap - but did nothing to bring it to the attention of the referee.

I've no problem with a stern exchange of words between professionals and supporters, as long has the same rules apply. So if it is ok for a professional to behave in a certain manner, I would also not expect to get arrested/evicted/banned if I behaved in the same manner. Stadiums have become sterile places so lets have some good ole rivalry, just don't come whining next time you visit. Ask Mr Evans. How this all fits with a family environment might be open to additional debate but then I would say that because I'm a traditionalist.
