Horrible game today. Can't say that anyone reached up to their normal level of play. Fairly obvious that we we're lacking a striker on top who could handle Wednesday's big defenders. I must however say that I was impressed by the way Wednesday handled the game on both the tactical and mental level. They showed some passion and intent (in lack of other words I know) and genuinely deserved their win. Anyway. Need to forgot this game, move on and stop the freaking whining. We're still second in the league and with a new striker and keeper nothing points on us pushing for anything other than promotion. I haven't been that impressed by Jakupovic before today's game, although he's had a clean sheet he hasn't really had that much to do, besides the Leicester game from what I've read after that game. Has some soap in his hands and showed this today. Can't say I'm very impressed of what people write of him despite this. I think it's a must that Proschwitz gets the chance against Peterborough. He's not really a target player in the way that he's gonna win headers, but from what I've seen he always does a good job holding the ball up, creating chances therefore. I haven't got any stats, but not sure if he's got more than 30 minutes in total from any game in the leagues besides Boro? He would surely do a better job taking care of the chances than Koren (who needs to get his ass down to midfield) has wasted in the last couple of games (Although the goal today was classy ) Time for the big German to step up and get his chance in the spotligt! In Prozzy and Bruce we trust
I'd like to have seen him come on a bit earlier today really after seeing Quinn miss that header, big lad like der Proschwitzer must have been working on that side of his game. Could be that we might get somebody else in entirely though so he might not even get that chance.
True. But we haven't got anyone else alá FC for example at the moment, so I do think that he deserves to start. It sort of feels like we're playing a 3-7-0 formation at times.
3-7-0, actually I was thinking that myself before! Their manager had sussed it out though it seemed and how to combat it. There's no point going with the 7 in midfield if it only gets you a goal I suppose.
If ever there was an opportunity to give big Nick a start, this game was it, and it never happened. But hey, far be it for any of us to criticize SB as we are still sitting 2nd and he obviously sees more of Nick than we do in training.
He deserves a fair crack in the team, 20 minute sub appearance here and there aren't enough to show us what he can do. With Simpson's form dropping off, it may work best for both players.
I have got to say what i so of him when given a full 90 mins in the cup game apart from the goal i was disappointed with him, yes his heading had improved a bit but overall he did not do do enough for me, having said that our forwards don't hold the ball up well enough so for me its bring someone in but that will not be easy
