i read both Nick Barmby and Darren Ferguson's perspectives on the game from Saturday. Probably both fair actually. Has anyone seen a Peterboro fan's take on it?

I think that is a rather skewed report. I didn't notice Peterborough dominating the last first and last 15 minutes of the second half. Also, I had a very good view of the Mannone "penalty" and, although they are sometimes given, I think the attacker had a poor touch, played the ball too far ahead of himself and then made a point of clashing with the keeper in order to gain a pen - he could easily have either run around him or vaulted over him. Good decision I thought.
The freekick given outside the box was a strange one though - I didn't actually see a foul but the players' reaction (from both teams) seemed to focus on a point which was well inside the area before the ref moved the ball a couple of yards outside for the freekick.
I though Peterborough were brillliant for the first 15 minutes but having failed to take their chances they faded and City were fairly comfortable for the rest of the match - especially with the change in formation which put them well in the driving seat for the last 20 - 25 minutes.
Good game and, after a very sloppy start, a pretty good performance.

Peterborough came flying out the traps and played some of the best football i've seen an opposition team play at the KC this season. Lapses in defence made by us perhaps made it look this way, but they kept closing down and winning the second ball all the time and were able to capitalise on lazy defending, thankfully not scoring. After we scored though I felt the game swung in our favour and despite some pressure early in the 2nd half, from Evans been booked for a challenge on their keeper I didn't feel they threatened anywhere near as much as previous, if anything we looked the more threatening with Evans hitting the post and Stewart and Mclean going close. For a side tiped for relegation pre season Peterborough look like they should be alright in midtable.

that is pretty much how I saw it. thought Peterborough offered more than the opposition in the 3 games we lost over the holidays.

the penalty incident looked pretty clear cut at the time. but looking at the replays I think the P'Bro player had lost control and the ball was running out for a GK before the coming together with Vito so it was a correct decision.

To be honest I was highly underwhelmed by Peterborough. I was expecting flash football from them and some decent threat, but all they did was has 2 long haired yetis - flower power George Boyd and that fat twat Lee Tomlin - diving around all over the place trying to cheat free kicks and penalties, and I dare say if it wasn't for these two jumping around like bellends, the ref maybe more inclined to give them the penalty, but it was quite clear they were trying their best to cheat the game.

Thought they were an utterly **** team, they offered nothing and never threatened, the only chances they had were from defensive mistakes, we were threatening ourselves more than they were with our extra soft pass backs. After a very uncharacteristic and sloppy opening 10 minutes we took the game, dominated with ease and applied pressure to them til the end and probably should have netted a few, there was only going to be one winner. The single one and only chance that Peterborough created entirely by themselves was that one near the end, when that pansy long haired girly-boy George Boyd decided to shoot from the corner of the 18 yard box tamely straight at Vito, other than that they had nothing. Any Peterborough fan or anyone else for that matter who thinks Posh deserved anything but minus on the goal difference from that game has 'delusions of grandeur' to be honest and needs a hard hit on the head with a saucepan and a wake up call.

Biggest bunch of cheating scumbags I've seen possibly since Liverpool under Benitez.

Happy chappy actually :) Was just very disappointed with Peterboroughs poor display and angered by their scummy style of cheating dangerous set pieces and penalties and diving at the floor at any given oppurtunity.

Did I mention George Boyd is a long haired yeti who would be better off in womens football?

Suprised the FLS didn't have the Evans' challenge on their keeper on the show, it was pretty big incident in the match, i thought. From where i was, it was a decent 50/50 challenge and Mclean's follow up should have counted.

Our finishing is pretty poor for a promotion chasing team. We did well on the wings all match, but there's never anyone in the box to stick it in the net.

Evans, Chester and Mckenna were brilliant at the weekend- they kept everything ticking over and got stuck in well when needed. Hobbs had a sloppy start but found his feet eventually and from there on it was a standard performance from him.

Rosey, Daws did well linking up with the attackers. Mclean was wasted on right- he linked up well with Rosey but he isn't a winger and needs to be in the middle, where his work rate pays dividends.

Liked Brady and Dudgeon's contributions when they came on. Both helped us steady the nervy last 15 minutes. You could tell the crowd were getting a bit tense what with their goal being peppered left, right and centre but nowt going in. I'd like to see Brady down the middle again- maybe even partnered with King.

Koren's goal was another beauty. Like what Rosey said about his reaction to Roko not passing to him and shooting instead.

The bit in the area was a dive. All I can think that would justify the freekick is that the ref saw a foul outside the box and tried to play advantage which didn't materialise. Although since the twat gave up the advantage by diving I think he should have forfeited the freekick for his side, but the ref was giving that fat number eight a freekick whenever he wanted one so it's not a surprise he carried on. If he has given it for the 'foul' in the box then I'm even more amazed he hasn't tried to put things right with the second penalty shout later in the game.

I don't understand this. When it's a corner it's played to the back post and an attacker is thrown to the floor at the front post it's still a foul and a penalty even though the ball isn't involved in the incident. Mannone took their player out in the area, it shouldn't matter where the ball is for whether a penalty is given or not, if anything it makes it worse that the ball wasn't there because it makes it a late tackle, if it had been a centreback sliding in on Fryatt in that situation we'd be screaming for a penalty and a red card (on the grounds of how late it was). The only things the position of the ball should affect is whether it's a card or not, and what colour the card is.

Mostly this. We should have probably been 2-0 down before we scored, add the penalty and it would have been 3-1 at half-time. Second half I thought we were the better team, but I'd have said a 1 goal margin would have been fair for that. They were probably the best opposition I've seen this season though, and it's nice to be the ones getting a lucky win instead of being on the receiving end of it like against Derby and M'boro.

Good character from the side to turn the performance round after that start though, we could easily have got flustered and been given a tonking. It was quite amusing seeing Barmby calling over defensive players to give them a deserved bollocking while Koren was still celebrating his goal as well.

Yes on another day Peterboro could have been 3 or 4 goals up after 20 mins but by the end City had had enough chances on top of the goal to have scored 5 or 6. So i dont see why Fergie jnr should feel like he does. But he may now know just how we all felt after the 1-0 loses @ M'Boro and Burnley over xmas. Its called football. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Indeed. What annoyed me more than anything was Mcleans disallowed goal. Nothing wrong with it as Evans went for a 50/50 ball. It was a fair challenge with Lewis the Posh GK and the fact Evans got booked just rubbed salt into the wound. The game has gone soft and incidents like that just go to prove it. Good game overall though.

Posh were all over us like a rash in the first ten minutes and we could have been two down quite easily. After that I thought it was a fairly even game, with us just edging it overall.

I thought Boyd looked good during that first ten minute period but faded, same as Sinclair.

Tunnicliffe was their best player by a country mile and looks to be a top player in the making. I was highly impressed with him.

I also didn't come away thinking they were a dirty, cheating team.

Definitely, wasn't sure if Posh had signed him permanently! I was hoping you'd say they hadn't.

some great crosses coming in but we have to learn to gamble by having our strikers, ie Fryatt and McLean getting across defenders in the 6 yard box

Definitely agree with this - particularly Fryatt who is an out and out striker
