Dear Sir, I am writing with regards to stories which have appeared in the Daily Record over the last few days concerning tickets for the forthcoming match between Celtic and Rangers. Having not been given the opportunity to comment on these stories prior to them being printed, it is important that Celtic´s position is made clear: • There was no agreement for Celtic to pay in advance for these match tickets. Therefore, the accusation that Celtic ‘reneged’ on an agreement is wrong. • The actions of Celtic Football Club have not threatened jobs at Rangers. Any suggestion to the contrary is also wrong. • There is no ‘bust up’. Indeed we are pleased that yesterday (Wednesday) we received our allocation of tickets for the match from the Administrators of Rangers Football Club. • We will sell these in the normal manner and will abide by the rules of the Scottish Premier League. While we have no desire to become involved in the business of any other football club, we felt it very important that we set the record straight and in doing so protect the reputation of Celtic Football Club. Disgraceful. The man should be flayed across the back of a gun-carriage for writing such an incendiary letter at this sensitive time.
Great article , nearly as good as the one on Celtic Quick news today , it pin points exactly what Whyte's plan were from day one and where it all went wrong . Anyway great to here Celtic have the tickets , for the biggest party of all time . I think the next two old firm game , there will be potential crowd trouble as the old firm games could be a thing of the past .
What an idiot hes obviously on the wind up No open letter will ever change the way the papers work (posting ****e) so why he even felt the need to try and explain it just shows hes thick as ****.
I don't think he's thick and this won't stop the Record next time or stop this story re-surfacing on FF and RM several years down the line (by which time, Lawell will have personally signed redundancy notices and such ****e) but at least he's refuted what was a desperate attempt to drag Celtic into this.
Am no claiming any of its real i don't believe in any of it but the fact is he felt the need to defend himself to a tabloid and that for me is ****ing pathetic. And that goes for anyone that does it. Yesterday, I took the story at face value and believed that there was an agreement to pay Rangers early. Now, I don't. Lawell's mission accomplished. It's not necesarilly about telling the DR to calm it, it lets everyone know that they were talking ****e. On the threads about it yesterday, NO-ONE - Celtic or Rangers fan questioned the fact that there was an agreement to pay Rangers early. Now, I can't believe I believed Jabba and Union
He didn't write the letter to put the DR in their place ya thick ****e. Are you totally incapable of interpreting beyond reading the simple context of the letter?
So hes no written the letter to publicly make the paper look wrong no? Sorry but what ****ing world do you live in? also are you seriously suggesting i should read things in that letter that are not there, if so it sure as **** explains your obsession with us.
