Apparently he is appearing at the Metro Arena. Always wanted to see him as think he is a top class comic. Tickets going on sale on Sunday and he’s due to appear in February 2019. Yes 2019 and the tickets are going on sale now!!!! Have to register for ticket information on Ticketmaster but says tickets are “from £199”. I’ll say that again,£199. As much as I like the bloke Hell will have to freeze over first before I pay that much for a ticket to see a comic. hoping it might be a “typo” but time will tell. As an aside what is the most you have ever paid for a ticket? And for who/what? How much would you pay for a ticket you wanted? Only money no object for me would be an FA Cup Final ticket when we are playing.
Has he had any new material since 2004? I loved Phoenix nights but the standup stuff seems all the same. Most I've ever paid for a theatre/show ticket is for Book Of Mormon, think it was about £150 each.
I don't like the metro arena for music or comedians. Small venues are better imo. EDIT: £199 for ticket...wtf? Chaka Khan was on the Hoocky Coochie in Newcastle about three years ago and that was £175, wtf?
Most mentallist gig was a couple of years ago at the o2 in Newcastle to watch Slaves (a young punk duo). I somehow found myself in the mosh pit ten minutes before the start. The place was fooking heaving, the crowd was swaying and when I looked around I saw everyone else was thirty years younger. I had to get out before the old ticker gave way
£199 must be for the premium tickets in the first block. People aren't going to pay that to sit at the back of the arena.
Agreed, the arena is a fairly **** venue. Comedy with that size of audience doesn't work well. I'll watch the inevitable DVD of the tour which he'll have out just in time for Xmas 2019.
On the Ticketmaster site it says “from “ suggesting they are the cheapest prices. Hoping its a “typo”.
Saw him last time and he was good. Paid £45. Ignore the tout sites mate. Just get a couple of internet access points going.. keep banging refresh and you’ll get tickets.
He's doing 3 nights in Newcastle so should be able to get tickets? Or do the touts just buy them all up?
To be honest, they say in the future we may be plugging microchips directly into our brains to watch things we once watched on DVDs so when this comes out I might be doing exactly that. I've never owned a Christmas jumper before and I doubt I will in the future as we welcome in the 2020s.
The touts have machines which act like humans on a mass scale and buy individual 3’s and 4 tickets. Leaves little left for normal folk.
Bryan Cranston is starring in the Network at the Royal National Theatre in London. It has very good reviews and I would love to see it but its sold out to March.
I'm pretty sure the ticketing sites keep back tickets to go on to their reselling sites at inflated prices rather than selling them to punters (or even touts). Is there any reason why ticket reselling shouldn't be made illegal? For unwanted tickets, venues/ticketing sites could be legally made to take returns and resell them at face value to other punters. It's a ****ing racket what's been going on with online ticketing and reselling.
My two girls were at the Arena recently to watch Little Mix, not only are the tickets overpriced but the cost of the food/drinks are a piss take. Its something like £7.20 for a small bottle of pop and a carton of dry chips.
I've seen some cracking comics but good old Ken Dodd (and he is old) at the Whitley Bay Playhouse ranks with the best. No swear words, no vulgarity, just pure wit, all night long...six hours in fact. He had the audience in the palm of his hand.
