With the signing of Adebayor and the promise of gametime for Defoe surely Arry sees Crouch as surplus to requirements and are willing to make a deal.

When we got promoted i'm 100% sure Crouchy was on top of NW shopping list, then came the reality check re our previous owners and Neil had to shift his sight.
Now with the change of ownership and the latest at WHL i'm sure NW didn't hang about in contacting the spuds and firming up his interest.

Peter Crouch to make his homecoming debut against Newcastle on the 12. sept.

Thing is, do we really need Crouchy? I'm not sure he's any better than Jay Both tbh.

Much rather see Bassong/Ridgwell pull up at W12 today.

Well if we're signing Joey Barton we need someone tall enough to get on to his overhit crosses :emoticon-0105-wink: After Newcastle sold Carroll, Bartons success rate has fallen dramatically :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Crouchy would be great for us,but we need the likes of Ridgewell now.

This is why NW is a clever chap.

Talking about the Gorkss deal he said:

"Brian McDermott was magnificent when he spoke to me. Then within five minutes he was talking to the player, within two hours was having a meal with him, and then he signed him. That’s how to do business".

He knows time is running out and he want's quick deals, no messing about. I bet he told Joey Barton to hurry up and give him an answer.

Agreed that we obviously need defenders, but I don't think Bothroyd is in the same league as Crouch. Would love to see him leading the line!!

Agreed defenders need to be priority #1. But i'd rather we bought a striker (Crouch) than all the midfielders, Joey Barton apart, that we are linked to (Cole, SWP and Puncheon).
