Peter Beagrie says on Sky Sports...... ASSESSING THE ROBINS Hi Peter, Bristol City have made a pretty solid start to the season, but do you reckon they are more likely to be pushing for the play-offs or fighting relegation come the season's end? Kevin Parsons (Bristol City fan) BEAGS SAYS: I am surprised at City's good start to the season as I imagined they would struggle. If they manage to hold onto Albert Adomah and get a couple of loans with the same quality as summer signing Sam Baldock, they should save you from a nail-biting finish to the season. Robins fans will know the important results are the ones against Barnsley, Crystal Palace, Millwall and Peterborough, sides with budgets and squads as small as theirs. With Leicester, Bolton, Burnley and Hull next up for the Bristol boys, they will have done very well if they are still mid-table after those games - but always remember how far City have come over the last few years. Makes a change for him to say something positive about us.....
Aside from last night's performance, I honestly believe we are a dominant CH, LB until Cunningham is back and a creative midfielder away from being a top ten side. The next four games are going to be crucial to our season, delboy has got to act quick and loan these players sharpish.
We'll be fine, but we need some results here and there to make sure whilst adjustments are made. I have complete and utter faith in Del.
All pundits had us down for relagation this term,we started well, then it has gradually gone down hill, last night was very poor. I really think these pundits have got it wrong regards us,but we need three quality players in two central defenders and a top midfield player.bring these guys in and it will be a cracking season. Get this sorted and the sky is the limit,it really depends on what the board and manager want to do regards the downturn.
"Makes a change for him to say something positive about us" Thats cos he's not! "I am surprised at City's good start to the season as I imagined they would struggle. If they manage to hold onto Albert Adomah and get a couple of loans with the same quality as summer signing Sam Baldock" I'm reading that as ' I always thought you were **** but you haven't started too badly, lucky for you, you have got AA and Baldock is on loan isn't he? So thats not like a proper player! "they should save you from a nail-biting finish to the season" You will almost definitely get relegated and if you don"t it will be by the skin of your teeth! "Robins fans will know the important results are the ones against Barnsley, Crystal Palace, Millwall and Peterborough, sides with budgets and squads as small as theirs" You are one of the **** sides and you will have a mini league of small fry fighting relegation at the end of the season, if I had my wish you would all be relegated (but you first!) "With Leicester, Bolton, Burnley and Hull next up for the Bristol boys, they will have done very well if they are still mid-table after those games" You're gonna be getting your come-uppance very soon against some proper sides who I happen to like much more than you! "but always remember how far City have come over the last few years" Please now **** off back to league one where I believe you belong... I ****ing hate that bloke with a passion....
We should be a mid table side this season, but the pessimist in me says we are losing confidence so fast that I can only see another season of real struggle. That is unless DMc manages to get a decent CB in on loan very soon. I admire DMc for his loyalty to his players but it is pretty obvious to all of us that Fonts needs a break from it. He's miskicking at so many balls in our box that it is very clear that his confidence level at present is minus plenty. I think James Wilson has had a raw deal so far this season. Not picked for a long time and now dropped again when it's his CB partner who is not performing.
