He lost the plot after finding fame with Fleetwood Mac and became a bit of a recluse. He'd often be seen in and around Twickenham town centre with long greasy hair, over-grown long and yellowed finger nails, shabbily dressed etc. For all in tents and porpoises he looked like your average tramp. He did recover somewhat in later years but not back to his usual self although he still managed to play live and record new music. The out of phase tone he got from his Les Paul became legendary.
