This guy was on a loan deal at Wolves last season and I understand his club Cologne have decided to terminate his contract. He got treated pretty badly at Wolves when Dean Saunders came in and couldn't get a game. There was a rumour that Wolves would have had to have forked out a good sum of money to Cologne if he played one more game for Wolves. It was something to do with the terms of the loan. Anyway, he looked lively with the few opportunities he did get and could be an option for us.
I didn't like him too much. I remember he came on for the first game of the season in the second half for them and looked lively for the first 5 or 10 minutes he was on but it looked like just pace to me with little else. I don't think he was that effective for the whole season for em and he couldn't make the team which ended up getting relegated
I woud like Sako myself. Can grab a goal from out of nowhere. Back to Peszko.... He has some pace and I think one problem at Wolves last season was that an unfit Edwards Blake couldn't keep up with him in the early part of the season. Peszko would make the run and deliver the cross and there was nobody at home, lol. I checked some of his stats and he averages a goal in about 1 in 6 games and has been top assist in several seasons for different clubs. I am not saying he is brilliant and the answer to our prayers and is more than likely not even on the radar. But I think he has a point to prove and would not be as expensive as someone like GMS who is not really proven at our level as yet. I rest my case your honour!
He's a full international so I'd imagine his wage demands would far exceed what GMS would ask for. Plus IF (I still think it's unlikely) we sign GMS, we're paying for his potential as well as his ability, and the possibility of a big resale value. Peszko's 28, that's the difference. Looks like our winger may well be Chris Forrester anyway
