Everyone on here is so pessimistic about SAFC at the moment - most of the players we already have along with McFadden who has just signed OK McFadden is no Ronaldo or Messi but, if he keeps fit, he can play on the wing or up front - Left Winger is something we need quite badly as McClean seems to be a first choice and seems to know there is little competition for his place. I am going to be optimistic - we have played 7 games this season and lost only 1 and that was against Man City. We have also only been behind in 2 games all season - and one of those we drew We have a guy who's scored 5 goals in 7 games. So we have a few things to be positive about I know I'm scraping the barrell but surelky optimism is better than pessimism?
Pint 1/2full mate that's me. but I feel in limbo with this season so far feel its not really started yet but know it will got a feeling it will just click.
in my view i would stick Rose on the wing much better than James at the moment, Colbeck at L/B he is solid there, give Zaha a start with Fletch, give Larson the left wing and bring adam on with 25 mins to go, bardo back at R/B Catermole D/M with Vaughn and Gardner in A/M
Pessamistic....of course I am, I'm a Sunderland supporter. Glass still half full but think the beer is starting to go a bit flat!
I'm going to play devils advocate here and say pessimistic. We've just had a **** run of games where we've grossly under performed and in my opinion this is down to Catts being sidelined. What if and this is likely, he gets another red? we don't have anyone who can slot into that role. Personally i think he will come back and our game will improve, we have to very winnable games coming up and i'd be dissappointed with less than 6 points from them.
my team for stoke mig bardo cueller o,shea rose larson R/W Gardener catts Johnson Saha Fletcher Bring on sess with 30 mins to go
More than enough time for things to "click" and start improving our performance. But if MON puts the "same" team out again I will be really peeved. I do expect Catts to come in but will that make any difference to our style of play, Probably not. If Bardo comes in, will that make a difference to our play, probably not. Will MON go 4-4-2 away from home, probably not, will some one other than Fletch score.............will we win........Gonna be a hard afternoon for me. I'm with Norway on this.
Like I've said on other posts I am still optimistic. We are collecting points whilst playing absolute sh*te. Admittedly would like our team to gel sooner rather than later and for MON to look at personnel/ formations etc but after 3 points tomorrow and then thru to the next round on Tuesday I am sure a few more fans will revert back to being optimistic.
Bit of both for me we have to get ourselves sorted out and kick on with a few decent results (that means wins). The fact we aren't playing well and not getting beat is sort of okay but, what happens when we get sussed as City did to us without playing particularly well. I've no doubt we'll all be happy funny fellas tomorrow if we win against a Stoke side who seem a bit hit and miss so far, lets hope we get them on a miss day.
Reasons to be cheerful? http://www.footballfancast.com/premiership/sunderland/ten-things-weve-learnt-about-sunderland
I read Lawrensons verict on the BBC site and he usually talks utter ****e, but for once i actually agree with the ****. He says we are workmen like and he's right, we seem to be spending too much time trying not to get beat rather than getting hold of the game abd going for it.
Last time we went as mad for a manager as we did for Martin O'Neil was Lawrie McMenemy, look what happened then, are going in the same direction?
