I’m thinking of going to the Perth Festival next April. (That’s Perth in Scotland not Perth in Australia). I live in Yorkshire so it’s a bit of a treck - roughly 300 miles each way - and will involve a couple of nights stay over. Has anyone been and got any thoughts or suggestions…. Is it a good meeting Places to stay cheers
Perth races usually good to attend. The course is part of the Scone Palace estate and overlooks the river Tay. Friendly course and you can see most of the track from the stands. Perth has good transport links - you can get direct rail from York with LNER. Variety of accommodation available and there is a bus shuttle from city to course.
Hmm, a Wordle enthusiast? Want nothing to do with this, thank you. Purchased by the New York Times from a Welsh software engineer, Josh Wardle, it is a browser-based video game. It is free but still seems to attract a lot of scams. Prefer not to download it, although I'm probably now on its data base already? No thanks! Info source: Wikipedia. (However, enjoy your visit to Perth. Fine city with a good racecourse, been there twice when living and working up in Scotland)
The lot at Fergals absolutely love it, and suggest staying in Perth and enjoy the local hospitality. it’s on my list, but a good few years away!
Lovely course, good facilities, and at not bad prices at all. I've been on numerous occasions and would recommend it to anyone. You can take an age to get out if it's a busy race day but you'll have a good day. Perth as a night out, if your staying local, can be very hit and miss, its a student city, so you might walk in to a bit of a hipster pub full of 'wanna be cool dudes and dudettes' then the next pub has a rock band on or some other entertainment and it's all good again. You pays your way, you takes your chance...
