A few weeks ago my Brother In Law, who I’ve known for well over 50 years , had 3 heart attack’s and a stroke , all within an 8 day period. Luckily he’s recovered to the point that if you saw him today you wouldn’t think anything had happened. Tomorrow he’s due to have a triple heart bi-pass. Tonight whilst I take my seat as normal, my sister (his wife), who normally sits next to me, most probably won’t (that’s another story). So whilst I would quite like a win tonight to give us a bit of breathing space, and I would like us to do well for the rest of the season, finish top 6 minimum , and even get promoted, times like this remind us it is only a game , and despite what Bill Shamkly reportedly said all those years ago , there are some things which put it all into perspective. For many years I did a job where I dealt with death and destruction on a day-to-day basis. I feel lucky and honoured to have done that, partly because my perspective on things, and life in general, changed the day I started it! I always want the best for our team, but Ashton said, "...its only a game." All the best mate; I hope all goes well for the op.
Life and family are the most important things we should cherish. Good luck to your brother-in-law for a speedy recovery and this Canadian heart will be thinking of you all tonight.
I sincerely offer my best wishes to your Brother in Law as well as to you and your family. Fingers crossed that all goes well for you and toes crossed for a City win to boot. Good luck Ashton and let us know how it goes.
