I was reading the Udders internet Q&A from their local paper and it seems, from their fans comments, that they think we are the Brighton of last season and playing the best football in the division and will win the title but they are worried that Sheffield Wednesday are the Southampton of last season and Wednesday will beat the Udders for 2nd place. Brighton's team of last season started off playing well in the second half of 2009-10 (after Poyet's arrival) so were up and running by the start of last season whereas we rebuilt a new team in the summer so, perhaps, our best performances will come AFTER Christmas? Thoughts? AllHell
Sheffield Wednesdays only downfall is there away form which is a slight advantage for Huddersfield as there's is slightly better, not that it really matters though. Charlton are the best team in that division and should have no problems finishing top, it's a close fight for second though with 3/4 teams in the mix
Saw this table on a Huddersfield in reference to their '1 defeat in 46' run. The table on 30/11/10 (after 18 games): 1. Brighton 36pts 2. Charlton 32pts 3. Bournemouth 30pts 4. Sheff Wed 30pts 5. Huddersfield 29pts The table on 30/11/11 (after 19 games): 1. Charlton 46pts 2. Sheff Wed 39pts 3. Huddersfield 38pts 4. MK Wimbledon 36pts 5. Sheff Utd 35pts I know and you know that the whole top 8 went on a prolonged good run in January and February last season, but still, I bet Sheff Utd are annoyed they're not towards the top Millens How are you?
i'm not sure if i've ever witnessed a Charlton season where performances have got better after Christmas!
Still far to early to say the final two in League One, however, looking at it realistically to end the season with absolutely nothing (7th place), surely is impossible because you already have a 17 point gap. Not that I would ever bring that up again, just saying. < book marked >
As much as a 'crunch match' it was, SCP qualified it well by playing it down, calling it just another game. Exciting as being top is, and very nice to spot the differences between this seasons team and last seasons, we're not even at the halfway mark yet. There's the notoriously crappy winter pitches, a potential injury crisis and possibly vultures swooping in on the January transfer window to contend with! Still a long way to go yet.
to be honest if we can keep our big lead up at the top we should be able to fend off interested parties from the Championship as it looks likely we'll be heading there next season. Only if Premier League clubs came in for players we might have to worry but then I don't see many Premier League clubs signing players from League 1 anyway... I think we'll be fine folks
