Nipper (or Nip) is widely used on the Island, but mush is aggressive (so of course is rarely heard here).

P.s. did you you know that mush is actually short for monsieur and was used for all foreigners at one point.

There you go........I always thought a mush was a Hampshire hog borne and bred.

If it's abuse you want just go on the Portsmouth News site, it is open season on there, several Saints trying to preach goodwill and to drum some sense into them and the replies are a joy to behold, talk about neanderthal! It is fun teasing them though, a bit unfair too, I almost got a conscience a couple of times but their vitriol soon cured me of that.

I like to go on to their site once in a while but have not been tempted to contribute to it as to write anything based on sound judgement, common sense or any other virtue would be a waste of time. In fact reading their vitriolic comments and their insulting references to Saints used to make me very angry. Mind you some of our fans who go o their to stir things up are short of a braincell or two. I always come away afterwards thinking what a bunch of half wits and ne'r do wells and then I come on here and read comments by PompeyMeowth and other pompey fans and my faith in human nature is fully restored. For the likes of people who choose names like Scumstomper and spit the most hateful bile I have ever read I wish nothing but ill will. On the other hand for people like DevonFrattoniser I hope Pompey very soon find their very own Markus Leibherr only one not quite as rich as ours.

Indeed a Markus Liebherr in nature rather than uber rich would be great for Pompey. Someone to bring the club and many of it's fans back down to earth, steady the ship and concentrate on the framework of the club rather than here and now success with no thought to the future as it has been for a decade or so.

I don't want to see my pompey fan Dad nor the others in my family who made a poor decision i their youth crying as we nearly were a few years ago.

I still use Nipper and Mush and. despite not hitting 40 yet, am considered a rocket by practically everybody who hears it! Mind you, I am in Glasgow and am considered a rocket for most of what I say.....
