Performance related pay for refs

    With the inconsistency of refereeing, i think the F.A should bring in performance related pay.

    Pay the ref a standard wage for refereeing a game and then add bonuses on for getting key decisions right.

    If he gets key decisions wrong, then he not only waves goodbye to any extra cash, but he is relegated to the division below which has a lower standard wage. On the other hand, if he makes some great decisions, he gets a nice bonus and is promoted up a division the following week.

    Maybe then we might get an improvement in performances from the officials.

    With all the shight we have had they would all be on benefits <ok>

    There would be no referees left to referee Premier league matches after a month <laugh>

    The FA are such that they would back their referees regardless, and thus would be paying out bonuses for rubbish performances anyway. Decent idea, but it just wouldnt work
