Bony , Gomis and Shelvey, 35 million big ones in the bank .28 points from our first 19 games , only 10 points from our last 19 games would see us make another season in the Premier . Give Monk 15 million to""Fill in " and give him the remaining 19 games to gel the team for the following season . Just a business plan idea , even though we have 28 points I feel we dont have a 28 Point team at this point in time .A nice smooth 20 million in the bank and a new direction back to our way to play.
Why share shares and control of a good thing Matt ?We"ve had great luck making money on our own and still retain a midtable position , why change now . We would double our money on these transfers without outside turmoil .
Where would you start ? you know that yo just don't throw money at a problem hoping it will go away .I think we all agree that Bony won't be playing for us next season and if so then it'll be for a big club with higher aspirations than ours when do you think we'll see the like of Bony again wearing a white shirt ,players like him for a Club our size don't come along often so if we have to sell then sell when we're ready to and imo thats not now , Gomis has the potential to be as effective as Bony with a few encouraging signs last night and he's got a month to prove his worth .Shelvey at the moment is damaged goods and for him to move on it's unlikely that we'll get what we paid unless Pardew wants him at Palace but their after a striker atm so who else would want to take a chance especially in January .Other than those 3 who else would you cosier selling and why ?
I want to sell Bony and Gomis because there is huge interest in both and thats when you make money on quality players .Both will go within a year so why not sell when they are worth the most .Shelvey is different , we dont know how to use him since Siggy came back and others have shown interest. We should be able to claw our spent money back from Shelvey. If not for our good point total to this point I wouldnt sell anyone .Otherwise , I wouldnt sell anyone else under these conditions matt.Monk is in a great position to expierment with new players for the remainder of the season.Just an opinion , and business one at that ..cheers
I understand but unless something catastrophic should occur then their value will remain the same or increase during this season .We're at 28 points atm and nothing is a given so until we're safe then why weaken an already small squad as we're already finding out., also who would you bring in to replace them ,it took the team a length of time to get used to Bony and Gomis has at least had a few minutes and a lot more time on the training pitch with his current team mates .The higher we finish up the table the more income the Club receives and as much as it pains me to post this but atm we're too reliant on Bony to win us games or at least so use his undoubted talents as long as we can imo
If ManCity , ( who have been sniffing around Bony for a while now ), manage to transfer him , they will win the Premier and maybe more ! .Bony could be playing against Barca in Champions League when he gets off the plane from Africa if City get him , might get our hands on A loan to buy with Sinclair while theyre firing money around .Our free transfer Gomis could bring in a cool 7 million from a few interested clubs.Makes me excited about how much Fab would possibly fetch in the summer . I hate everything about what the ""Premier League"" stands for but love the way we carefully steal all the money from it .
You put Sinclair in the same sentence as Bony , you still haven;t answered who would you replace Bony and Gomis with . By the sounds of it you'd be quite happy to right this season off as of now
I thought I mentioned 15 Million for Monk this window , nothing to sneeze at matt . A good striker and another center circle midfielder and a couple of gems like Grimmes.Sinclair can get minutes with Montero out .If they deal for Bony , Sinclair will be part of it imo .... great time to be Emnes if Bony and Gomis jump ship though.
We just signed a guy from Spain too didnt we . 10 points from the remaining 19 games dictates the opportunity to sell high and rebuild on the cheap again. Between The Spanish striker , Emnes and a new guy I think we'll move ahead .Look at the Saints sell off and where they are now ...absolutely brilliant.
Grown men still using the term "manure"..... Crazy idea to sell in my opinion. Monk has had half a season to gel this team - and look at our latest performance at Anfield.
I agree that players can be sold to raise funds, but surely not our best performing players?! Why do we usually buy from abroad? Because the majority of British, more specifically, English, buys are overpriced for underperforming players. We have three of those. Dyer, Routledge and Shelvey would all fetch between £4 and £8 million each. All are underperforming. All don't offer us much on the field of play anymore. But all are English, have lots of Premier League experience and goals in this league. On paper, they look excellent buys for other teams, in reality, probably only Shelvey could be worth the money as he's young, Dyer and Routledge appear to be past it at this level. You can raise £15-20m off these 3 players alone, which should help us replace and bolster. Added in that we have Emnes and Barrow who can certainly come straight in and do no worse than Wayne or Nathan are currently.
