...now, Cardiff... Now, Cardiff do carry a threat, they have some pace in the side, they have lads who can cross early, 2 absolute glaring problems for us. This game is bigger than Prince, so how do we set up? How do we make sure we do not drop the ball the lads have magnificently found in a way that would make Malaysian Airlines look competent? Easy. We ****ing batter the sheep buckers from the first ball, we don't let them settle. ONE holder, we may as well lose as draw, happy with the width of the wing-back system we've utilised recently, so how about.... Vito Vergini - Brown - ANYONE BUT JOS Seb-----------------------Alonso ----------Catts------------------ Borini - - - Colback-----------AJ ----------Connor Higuain What we really want is an early goal, and ideally a ****ing battering, Seb has been super dooper last 2 games and I reckon he could do some damage as a RWB. Anyone got any brighter ideas?
Think I'd stick with the 4-3-3, something like: Vergini-Brown-JOS-Alonso Catts-Seb (One sitting, one making runs forward) Johnson-Giacc-Borini Wickham Left Colback out for Giacc as we need a quick start and I think he's more likely to provide the quick start than Colback. Runners from midfield will be absolutely key, need to unsettle them.
If we were to go with 3 at the back I'd play -----Mannone------- --Vergini-Brown-JOS-- Seb--------------Alonso ---------Catts-------- -----AJ-Giacc-Borini--- --------Wickham------
Aye, I'd love to see Giacc start mate, but I think going with Jack initially would give a bit of box to box cover allowing freedom out wide. I'd be more than happy with your team, I'm boncing off the walls for this game already man and it's Monday, like a derby week!
cant go three at the back, that would br suicidal, the smiler will have a go at us, maybe revert to 3 once 2-0 up
Any win mate, any ****ing win, but it wouldbe nice, one time, to not age 17 years during a home game.
When was our last comfortable home win? 3-0 West Ham at the beginning of last year, i think? **** me, we used to be decent at home edit: looked at the report, McFadden came off the bench that day what a pointless signing
Think I prefer early mate, means I can get up, straight to match, and not have to pace the house for 2 hours before I leave. Could be tucked up back at home by 3 and have a very nice afternoon!
Haha, gotta be done mate Not that I have those issues like, but I remember them from the past, if you have to face the Monday, whole week is a write off.
I don't see how anyone can want it changed. Vergini rb and Alonso lb with jos and Brown in the Centre. Sane as against.city and Chelsea. If it ain't broke then don't fix it
Got to be really. I'm no Larsson lover but he put some telling tackles in on Saturday. Also, I think its time to stop berating JOS. Him and Brown (who is not exactly blameless for mistakes this season either) were superb at City and at the Bridge. They are the bedrock of these two great results and i only hope they stay fit for the rest of the campaign.
From the BBC - Did you know? Since O'Shea joined the club, Sunderland have a 27% win percentage with him in the team, compared to 11% when he has been absent.
Sorry, but that statement doesn't make any sense to me. Anyway, it's not my stat, and I'm not defending it - just putting it out there.
