Swindon 0-3 Gills Who of us saw that coming??! Incredible stuff from our dramatically improved team! My girlfriend thought I was mad doing a three hour round trip (I live in Woking, so not as long a drive as for some) for a cold Tuesday night match, and to be honest I agreed with her assessment after getting caught in traffic and only just making kick off. But oh my word... WELL WORTH IT!! Great atmosphere, great counter-attacking performance (albeit we did ride our luck in the first half hour - fast becoming a routine away from home!), and fantastic goals. All three were brilliant quick-thinking finishes. Just a shame the experience was ruined for Swindon fans by that fire drill in the home stands in the last 10 minutes or so...
I envy you being there Steve. I was there for our last win at Swindon in 82ish. We battled and defended for 90% of that game for a 0-1 result. But yesterdays sounds like a truly wonderful away performance and taking the game to them rather than sitting back and hoping. Seen the goals, all 3 excellent in their own way.
