Liverpool keeper Jose Reina has rejected suggestions that he is set to move to Atletico Madrid. The Spanish side will soon be in the hunt for a goalkeeper with David de Gea on the verge of a move to Manchester United. But Reina has said he will not be the youngster's replacement at the Vicente Calderon. Speculation in the Spanish media linked the Spain international with a move back to his homeland after a six-year stint at Anfield. The 28-year-old dismissed the rumours, saying he would be honouring his new contract with the Reds. He told La Gaceta: "I know Atletico are looking for a goalkeeper, but I won't be changing colours. "I have a five-year contract and I'm happy at Liverpool." While that will be music to the ears of Liverpool supporters, they will be less excited by Reina's belief that De Gea will be a big hit at Old Trafford. He said: "I very much welcome this news because David is a great keeper. "When it becomes official he is going to start working to prove in the Premier League what a good goalkeeper he is."
Torres will end up there before Pepe will. Athletico, surely thay can't steal players from us anyway. Surely that would be a step backwards for Reina seeing as whats happening at the club right now
I got this on my facebook page.Liverpool inserted a buy-back clause into the Torres sale. They can re-sign him for £5 million or £7 million if he's successful at Chelsea.
