He want's to work only in London, he want's to go to a team with potential, he want's to build the next Barcelona. Now don't shoot me down as I know it is very unlikely but the question is how much of a difference would he make?
It would take him 20 years to make a difference - he just inherited an outstanding structure and philosophy put in place by Johann Cruyff late 80s which they have stayed true too ever since. I'm sure he is very good, but Chelsea will be disappointed when they get him end of this season - you can't buy what Barca have overnight.
The fact that you managed to get our club and Pep's name in the same post; on the same board or even on the same planet... No disrespect mate, but it is funny....!!
Spot on SB, Pep was in the right place at the right time and inherited a great set-up including Messi who was coming to his peak. Any team that takes him on in future will be paying him for his past success and find you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear...
With all the Hughes negativity I was just wondering what difference Pep the myth would make. I did say don't shoot me down. SB73 got it spot on. I think Hughes should stay unless he has lost the respect of the players
possibly, but he could have changed Barca's style and philosiphy but he didnt, because he believed in it. Barca havent been at the top fo 'that long" and it took a strong manager to carry on the style & belief that he had inherited. Jose' tried it at Real & despite his succes, he wil never be fully accepted as a top Spanish manager. I await El Pirate's post to telme i'm wrong?! Im a massive Real fan and the sooner we lose JM the better...another subject for another day ! Anyway...no point talking about him..PEP wil not be anywhere near good enough for us...we need Harry !
Mate, totally understand that and not havin a go. gotta have a lugh or else e'd all be arguing with each other Hold on.... LOL !!
The point I'm making is he built the team around Messi, how many managers are that lucky? He'll never repeat it at another club...
Swansea have made huge strides in the space of a few years. They're not quite there yet but that's possibly more down to resources and you wouldn't get Guardiola in and restrict him. I'd say it would take a couple of years especially with the technical ability we have in midfield. Not sure I could deal with another overhaul (the defense would need wholesale changes) but for him I'd make an exception.
MAybe so, but that wasnt always the case. You know Messi thought he wasnt gonna play football ever again right? Why cant we built a team around Taarabt then.... What about Liverpool & Gerrard? Shearer? Beckham ? Parker? Barry? xavi? Scholes? Granero? Ali? Dont agree with that argument. Although i will say that i wasnt havin a dig at the OP. Read my signature..should set you right !
