Say what you want, but Pep has played a couple of blinders in this transfer window ... let me explain: 1) Kane - Citeh tried to get the lad, he had his bags packed and was ready to move, except Levy decided to over-value his striker to force Citeh to pay more than they valued him at ... good work by Spuds, or maybe not ... Pep's presser yesterday was a hoot, where he basically said, "We tried everything in our power to sign Kane, we desperately wanted him, I wanted him, but that brilliant negotiator Daniel Levy hammered us and eventually we couldn't do a deal." In doing so, Pep lay the blame for Kane not getting his dream move firmly at the feet of Daniel Levy ... any fractures in the Spurs/Kane relationship will surely widen now, as Kane will have heard Pep say he wanted him at Citeh very badly ... imagine if Spuds miss out on Chumps Lge again, while Citeh win the Prem and FA Cup, Kane will be seriously p1ssed off ... Pep wins this one for sure, Levy will be feeling a bit nervous about Kane now 2) Ronaldo - this was a classic dummy thrown by Pep, and he suckered Scum into a panic move for the Portuguese forward ... when it became clear that because of the potential Mbappe move to Madrid that Ronaldo was going to be given a chance to leave Juventus to go to PSG, Pep was asked if Citeh may decide to move for Ronaldo now that the Kane deal was off ... cheeky Pep couldn't resist, and he intimated that Citeh had made an approach without actually saying they did - "Ronaldo will decide where he plays next, not me or Citeh will decide this. Ronaldo will make his own choice. It's not about the money for him." ... bear in mind a Citeh move could have been a reality, as the Mbappe deal with Madrid had stalled, so Ronaldo couldn't really wait to see what PSG did Instantly Scum's 2.7m media outlets all jumped onto the "Ronaldo's off to Citeh" bandwagon, and they then started to ask OGS if he felt it was smart to let a former Scum idol move to Citeh and maybe come back to haunt them ... the expected uproar from the Sky remote clutching Scum plastics ensued on social media, and lo and behold, before you could say Rooney shags slappers, Scum are in for Ronaldo and convince him to sign for them, thereby "stopping" him from going to Citeh ... great move by Scum, NOT ... Ronaldo will cost them a minimum of £60m and you have to seriously question their judgement on this deal ... let's put it this way, if Leeds had a billion available, I can guarantee you that there is no way Bielsa would have sanctioned a deal for Ronaldo ... Pep wins another, suckered Scum superbly
Good post Billy but why didnt Pep try and offload Mendy after the first rape and before the other 3 and sexual assault
Manchester City chose not to suspend Benjamin Mendy following November 2020 arrest L’Équipe report that questions have been raised among people close to Manchester City regarding the club’s handling of the Benjamin Mendy situation, with the defender currently provisionally detained after being charged on four counts of rape and one of sexual assault. The World Cup winner has now been suspended by the club since late August, pending the legal proceedings, with the club making no official comment. Three of the instances of rape are said to have taken place in October 2020, with Mendy’s first arrest the following month. At that time, the Daily Mail had published an article stating that a Premier League footballer had been accused of rape, written by Chris Wheel – the correspondent for the two Manchester clubs, as pointed out by a Manchester City supporter interviewed by L’Équipe. At this stage, Manchester City took the decision to not suspend Mendy, while waiting to see if the Frenchman would be charged. The left-back went on to play more regularly over the rest of the season, although he notably avoided a meeting with the club’s press officer for an interview before the Champions League final in May. City also looked to sell Mendy during the past transfer window, although this decision is said to have been made essentially for sporting reasons. Nevertheless, his high price meant that he would remain at the club, and notably went on to play on the opening day against Tottenham on August 15. An agent close to the club has questioned Pep Guardiola’s management methods, claiming that the Spaniard has faith in his players and does not look into their private lives, “as long as they arrive on time for training and play well”, in contrast with the approach taken by Sir Alex Ferguson during his time managing Manchester United.
So it seems it's ok to be involved in raping someone, but Historical Tweets by sportsmen can lead to investigation and suspension.
I'm confused. How come Pep has 'suckered' Man Utd into buying Ronaldo? Pep wanted him, he's one of the best players in the premier league even at his age. They paid an initial 13 million for him. That is nothing for a man of his talent and the revenue they'll make off the back of him. That money that they paid Juventus was recouped with interest within a week through Ronaldo shirt sales.
Mendy was in court earlier and remanded until November, he and a guy names Louis Saha ffs were both charged with 4 rapes and one sexual assault, one girl was under 18 and Mendy’s solicitor says she will have the charges dropped by November as her client is innocent? I suppose too many people in the public eye get named and shamed by police and finish up innocent or charges dropped. Was watching a news programme today about that useless les Cressida Dick who had every tv personality and radio DJ from the 70s and 80s arrested for child and sexual abuse. They were all innocent Freddie Starr ended up dying without having his day in court, Paul Gambacini career fkd….. So I get the reason for not doing anything to Mendy until he was actually charged. However if he is a serial rapist I would pay good cash to see his first night in nick
