Ok before you start getting hyped over this give me time to explain. If we get 5mill compensation for Rodgers, and Brendan was on 15/20k a week... that means we could, realisitically, offer a very good manager 50k a week on a 3 year contract. Pep has made it clear he would like to manage Man United later in his career and we could be the perfect stepping stone. Players would come to us without a doubt due to him being here, including loan signings from Barca and he would have the respect of the vast majority of players. Siggy would definitely stay, as would virtually all of the first team squad. Pascoe and Curtis would be there working behind the scenes to make sure things don't change too much. What do you think lads? Too ambitious, or is it worth the expense? Or will Huw even consider it?
I meant no, Huw won't consider him because he knows we've no chance. Barca to Swansea? Get real. No offence.
Guardiola said he has fallen out of love with the game when he left Barca and will only come back if the right challenge presents itself....who knows what that is but if you dont ask you dont get!
Well look at it this way. If he wants a new challenge in football then the money side of it wouldnt enter his head, why would he need to go anywhere for the money when he is already made for life. So if he were to come back into football for the challenge then SWANSEA CITY in my eyes would be the perfect challenge for him. He would be inheriting a team that is totally suited to his style of coaching. He would attract top quality players from all over europe. Let him spend wisely by bringing 2/3 quality players in for say 3 seasons and who knows he may be able to get the team into europe. I am not stupid and dont think for one minute that he would even consider us but it really would be a hell of a challenge for him.
If he was on £7m at Barca why does he even need the money. He should be doing it for the challenge. Winning trophies by having one of the richest clubs in the world is surely not fun. He should try it with a club that isn't funded by the government. Can he work within a strict pay structure? Does he like to surf? Can we ship over a tub of Joe's ice cream to tempt him over? Swansea is the right choice. #PepForSwansea OK time to wake up
If you don't ask you'll never get. Quite right JD. Thecworstbtst can happen is a "no" and a recommendation for who he thinks he would put in the position. It's time we grew a pair.
I'd love to see him come here and maybe with Pep's desire and Huw's astute business mind, he could pull it off somehow.. My only concern is, how would these managers fair with a Swansea budget? Lets face it, Pep brought in players like Fabregas etc.. We can't even consider bringing players like that - Could Pep live with that? I honestly think that was really where the relationship failed with Sousa - When we said we've not got massive funds, he probably thought we still could compete with the rich of the championship at the time.. Same now, we scrape the barrel in comparison to the money spent in the rest of top flight football clubs accross the world.
He would be a dream manager, but that's never going to happen. That's almost as delusional as the crapdiff lot making rumours that drogba is heading their way. Not quite as though.
Pep's success was actually built on a lot of home grown talent. There were acquisitions, but the majority of Barca and the best of Barca are home boys.
