For ****s sake lets give Cooper and Bradley a chance first please before we bury em, they may well do a good job together.
They did OK today. I'd like to see the 2nd goal again because I'm not sure who was at fault if anyone, but they were much better than the attack.
I thought Dawson played him onside as he ran from that side i am pretty sure...... However i think these two did okay for most part of the game.
Cooper looked to panic alot throughout, but we have to give them time together in the first team if we are without Hobbs/Chester for a while. Our defence haven't been the problem at all... its the people in front not sticking the round thing in the net thing. I think I've forgotten what thats even called? Scoring or something?
Hopefully Rosenior and Dawson will use their experience to help them along when needed. Hobbs and Chester will be a miss but lets give these lads a chance.
I thought Cooper started well, but the OG affected him badly, he's better than the performance we saw today. I thought Bradley was excellent. The fact is though, that you wouldn't want to play out the rest of the season with two lads with barely any experience at this level.
The senior pros aren't pulling their weight so Barmby needs to show some balls and give a few of the young lads a chance, also I want the ones he doesn't want with us next season not to figure, lets face it the play-offs are gone now realistically after the last two results, would be nice to end the season on a positive note.
I agree with bits, i would rather not through every young lad in because he is young, play the players you think are going to be in your starting XI come the next of the season, thats got to be the key.
Cooper was a bit all over the place on so,e set pieces and the own goal unnerved him, but otherwise he had a sound performance. He coped with the series of long balls thrown his way. Bradley didn't put a foot wrong whilst on the pitch neither. It isn't going to be any harm playing these two, because it's our strike force holding us back anyways. That said, can we please stop playing Mark Cullen. Today he had his 23422245564438th ineffective performance (ok 22nd from 24 appearances) I know it's hard to make an impact as a sub, but with Cullen it's either one of two things. You rarely see him with the ball or when he gets it, he's offside. Yes he played well against Blackpool, and once upon time against Wigan but I would rather he left Fryatt up top, or move McLean/King there instead. Cullen is only 19 (nearly 20) and I aren't getting on his back, I just don't think he is ready to be plan B and actually wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't get a new contract.
Cooper as well as the own goal was being (fairly) knocked all over by Platt as though he wasn't there during the first half. For some reason in the second half Coventry decided to stop playing the balls to Platt that had been effective and the CBs had a pretty easy second half. *hardly a surprise given the size of Platt. Second goal my first instinct was that Bradley was playing him on. As I followed the ball the defence were back peddling, but Bradley was about 5 yards behind them and seemed to be stood still. I've got much less of an issue with the defence today than I have with what was going on in front of them. The defence basically made 2 mistakes and we got hurt by both of them, the rest of the team...
I can't remember if Cullen even touched the ball, bizarre substitution, Evans was having a bad game and Fryatt and Mclean were already playing up top, he might as well have stuck Cairney on for Evans, at least it would have given us half a chance.
I think the first sub should have seen Stewart go off and not Brady as up until that point, the latter was playing slightly better. To be honest, a lot of Barmbys subs are a bit questionable. And no I ain't having a go for the sake of moaning, just an observation.
Agreed, Brady definitely should have stayed on ahead of Stewart, I'm not sure what it will take to see Stewart dropped, maybe if one of his legs drops off he might only make the bench?
I'd like to see Stewart/Simpson back for Millwall - players always score against former clubs and those two did cause problems. I think he's playing Stewart to literally drag him through his rough patch, he knows we might not keep him in the summer and wants to show the faith. Considering we dont cross the ball ever the goal scoring problem isnt rocket science.
Was it the Southampton game he was on the bench?? Don't quite understand that. King had a storming half (at least) and then Stewart gets back in again next game. Judging from what a couple of people said on the radio after the game, his selection is based entirely on how much work they put in in training..
The only people who say that are the ones who dont have a clue about football. Yes they are young and Yes they are inexperienced "Bradley especially" but Cooper has played in the PL and done well and should not be knocked just because of that own goal...it happens to better than him. Both lads have talent and it will be a good test @ Millwall on saturday. Darius Henderson who a few incl. me want NB to sign will give them that test. I shall be there to watch it all unravel. WILL YOU ??......... If they are good enough then they are old enough. We need quality cover for both Hobbs and Chester anyway and to have 2 Hull lads who want to play for us anyway thats an advantage for starters. Back the locals to the end.
Anyone else hear that Bradley got arrested for assault after hitting/kicking someone in Poz on Saturday night following the game?
This rumour was posted on CI yesterday, but there's been no confirmation from anywhere and he was merrily tweeting about some WWE bollocks last night.
