According to Opta spurs have lost their last six penalty shoot-outs in all competitions. Who have we lost to I cant remember any ?
I think most teams would expect to win scoring 4/5 so i think we were a little unlucky, also Gomes is usually good against pens.He might as well have not been there last night.
Middlesborough League Cup 2005. Can't think of the sixth one though. Guess the last time we won one was 1984 UEFA cup final.
6 out of 8 is a lot better than our penalties in game! Didn't 'Arry say the ref would be better off just giving a goal kick last year?
The actual quote is here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...after-dislocating-shoulder-against-Spurs.html 'Crouchy? Probably not. Lennon? No.' You have to admire his honesty
I don't know if that was the link you intended but It went to a story about Carragher dislocating his shoulder in the Spurs match. Seems he will be out for 6 weeks. Gone are the days when the trainer would run onto the pitch force the dislocation back into place, a quick scream from the player and then straight back to the game. We were MEN then you know. Whatd' you mean the leg is broken pah! I'll just run it off. Your skull is split! Bind it up I've got a game to finish. Compare that to Gomes; Help! I want to come off I've got a split nail. Bunch of over paid puffs we have now <run>
Doesn't Crouch actually have a pretty good record with penalties? I'm sure that I can remember him scoring them for both Liverpool and Southampton, plus I know he got one for us against Young Boys. He missed one for England and I think he did it for us too, but I can't remember when.
Crouch has lot of good records PNP so have I come to think of it, about 4500 in my collection mostly jazz but quite a wide range. With Crouch it's not the records so much as the performance. Some records are better off as plant pots. Sorry Peter only joking
Golden Goal worked well for me, so they scrapped it I don't mind penalty shootouts though, fun to watch but sometimes pretty unjust.
