He was also the ref that was part of talks with the club after Bale got booked repeatedly for diving earlier in the season. Those talks were clearly counter-productive.
I'm not sure what choices we have remaining, bar emulating Ferguson's delightful tactics and going after officials that make **** decisions against us.
Being reasonable and attempting to address the issue has gone against us and resulted in a season of uphill battles.

48 hours after that calamitous 'mistake' and the silence remains deafening. If the refs want fans to respect them then they are going to have to publicly admit mistakes quicker. Actually 'at all' would be nice........
 
WY, I'm not arguing that Man U and Chelsea, especially, don't deserve to have the penalty kick stats in their favor. +6 for Man U seems quite reasonable. But +10 for Chelsea? 11 penalties given and only one for their opponents? When they didn't dominate games for much of the year, and Ivanovic, especially, tends to get very clingy?

And the oddest stat of the bunch is Spurs, 0 given and 3 for their opponents. If pens had been awarded on a fair and consistent basis, taking Man U as the standard, it might be something like:

Man U +6
Man City +5
Chelsea +5
Arsenal +4
Spurs + 3

NO PENALTY KICKS awarded against Man Utd., whilst ONE awarded against Chelsea.. a total of FIFTEEN awarded (in premiership games) to the pair..........This is what I find to be extraordinary.

No Penalty kicks awarded to Spurs........
We need to offer the referee(s) a biscuit with their half time cups of tea. <whistle>
